WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Featured Replies

didnt the coach searching comitee meet today?

It was yesterday as David Parkin missed the first meeting cause he had his league teams TV commitment

ah, fair enough!

all sounds pretty positive anyway, will be interesting for the next few days

I am very serious.

Maybe I haven't explained myself properly.

I mean that in a marriage if either one wants to do something career wise and its to the advantage of your relationship (ie good $$$ and state to live in) then you would think they would support u.

That's what I am trying to say.

Hopefully that clears it up

LOL. Mate. Have you been attending nutbean's seminars on "how to have a successful marriage" again? (Sorry, nutbean!) I don't know too many women who would just move interstate at the behest of her husband without it being a two way decision. Honour and obey died out years ago.

It is accurate. They were talking to Centrebet/Sportingbet and they said they suspended the market due to many calls wanting a big crack at the $1.80.

All prices for Roos on other agencies have all dropped to $2 or less

oh sorry I was talking about sportsbet - it is sitting at 1.80 now, down from 2.25 of a few hours ago

If my future husband was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity with a once in a life pay packet, I would not stand in his way. It would be selfish to do so.

And detrimental to your future shopping sprees

Things may get interersting after Monday when I believe the AFL decide on the ratification of our assistance package which may or may not iclude priority picks.

Momentum may gather re Roos as MFC coach when/if all the points of assistance we are requesting get the big tick.

I think asking your spouse to pack up and move away from where they are settled and happy as just as selfish. And it's hardly a once in a lifetime opportunity for Roos. He's done it before and gave it away on his own terms, and I doubt he's on minimum wage as the head of the Swans Academy thingy.

The AFL wont give us a PP prior to the season being over.

no, but they could give a wink and a nod to the "right" coach

Don't know if it's been reported but Peter Jackson is going on holidays from mid August to September sometime.

So we can assume it will be done and dusted prior to mid Aug?

Nice to c someone understands what I am talking about.

If its to the benefit of both of u why wouldn't u move? It's nothing to do with honour and obey but more with common sense.

So we can assume it will be done and dusted prior to Aug?

No he told the AFL before appointed that he was going on holiday back in May. Just means don't expect any announcement till september maybe even early October.

Bugger.

Would u think that he would have it organised before leaving but leave the announcement until he is back?(ie all his ducks lined up)

Mark Stevens tweeted tonight that Peter Jackson is off on holiday from mid Aug to mid September - must be pretty confident he'll have the key appointments taken care of by then?!!

Sorry missed reading that

Planned well before he took the MFC gig.

I am sure when dealing with businesses and issues like the MFC it isn't simply a case of 'sorry but I had a holiday booked already'. I'd be confident he has things at hand before heading off.

The gnome?

He reminds me of one. Put a little blue jacket on him and a red garden gnome's hat on him and shrink. Wouldn't look out of place at the bottom of the garden.

Would not get too excited about corporate books suspending bets. With this market a $500 wager will send their bean counters into overdrive. All the BS about accepting huge bets is just spin,to entice punters.

These parasites are likely to ban you after 2-3 bets if you take top price, even if you lose.

Would have to assume PJ will have things sorted before he heads off overseas for a month.

Talking about going on holidays at a critical time lol

He probably needs the break hh as he's been there for a number of wks now but probably seems like a number of yrs!!!

I don't know for sure but I suspect PJ is going to follow the tradition set by one of his predecessors who left his post to attend Wimbledon. I believe PJ's break coincides with the US Open Tennis and if that's the case there's every chance that, on his return, there will be an announcement that John Tomic is one of our new assistant coaches.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
