Why ? Does PJ want it now or does Roos want it next wk?

the AFL would want to get the essendope saga so far our of the public eye as they possibly can.

this week is all political elections in the main...

next week will slide back to sport as the main game... we will shade essendope with our drip feed of announcements IMO. throughout September,,, & then on to the trade period.

Simpson and Burns are have pulled out until further notice, Rocket has re-signed with Pies, from what i've heard Chocco is out

Only leaves Craig and Roos as far as Im aware (and I have no idea on the status of Craig)

i for one am glad that Homer J Simpson & C Montgomery Burns will not be coaching the MFC next year :)

For mine, it's pretty simple. He doesn't want some ridiculous bells and whistles "I am the messiah" thing at the b + f.

He just wants to come in and coach a football club that wins games, and in doing so, establishes a culture of excellence.

I agree, it's part of the Paul Roos coaching mentality, no heroes, one whole perfectly working machine.

If Roos does sign why oh why didnt PJ come into our lives years ago. It could have saved us years of heartache. This man is a genius and has done so much positive stuff for this club.

He goes and gets an awesome coach and makes hard decisions while our last CEO was focused on blazers and bugulars.

You know...I agree but hes really on top of his 'branding'

I simply think he has a decent respect for others as he would want them to have of him.

also Craig is still at the helm, & symbolically should be there for the B & F... for his thankyou's respects paid.

Craig should probably do the exit interviews also really, it would be strange if Roos came in and said look we've never met but cya later.

The article "Roos' eight day deadline" on the MFC website is an odd article for a club to put out with a prospective coach.

Some interesting comments.

He revealed he had discussed the position with family over the weekend, and begun contract discussions last Thursday, but was yet to get into the details such as the length of any potential deal.

Roos met with some Demons players last week, and described them as a "really good young group".

"I wouldn't want to make an announcement at their best and fairest. Their best and fairest is about 2013. "It's a celebration of the players' performances this year it's got nothing to do with next year."

IMO That whole article points to Roos to coach esp with the last sentence looking towards next year and they are discussing contracts but we are melbourne

Robbo still suggesting that the "door is still open", meaning Roos may still back down...Give me a break.

Selective hearing? Robbo also said that he believes that Roos will take the job!

.... as long as we don't stuff him up for his next appointment, or holiday... I hear its nice up North right around September/October.

that fat loser Slobbo saying the door is open means we 100% have got Roos

pop the champagne

Might as well pop it mate, either we are going to be celebrating or drowning our sorrows, might as well get in early.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
