Like others in this thread I appreciate the work Don has done as Vice President and later President of the footy club to eradicate debt, and acknowledge that it must be an enormous commitment to volunteer time on top of every day work and family commitments to put time into being on the Board of a footy club. Good luck to him in the future

The Seats are emptying...Good, sorry it should have occured a lot sooner..The Club is where it is because Bad Decisions were made to cover others.

Meanwhile all our money is gone...Don you are a nice guy, but you have left a mess, you should have put your hand up earlier.

My opinion will rile a few of you, so be it. Our Present situation should never have happened. It has.

If it wasn't fror the supporters speaking up CS would still be the CEO.

Everyone must go....we need the full transfusion.

Wyl I refer to the dees plight like a root canal.

It's a slow and painful process but the results will be positive in the end (hopefully).

As far as I'm concerned change cannot come soon enough.

Eloquent and heartfelt

It may not be those things but I never knew the guy and I am getting annoyed at so many posters here who pretend to. We wanted change, we have it, so much affectation

I agree...it's just a pity 186 was not properly dealt with...we could be pushing for finals by now if it was.

No more mates doing dodgy jobs please.

Agree, I wonder how Cameron's spending his 6 month severance pay.

Why are melbourne saying no one is going to speak or comment on this but mmm are saying someone is talking on an am station about it. Was Peter Spargo on 3aw or SEN?

If people are told not to speak then why are people doing interviews. This is what we are dealing with.

Thanks Don, you took the job on to help out a friend and your loyalty to friend and club must be commended. No one can doubt your passion for the club and your efforts in a difficult time for Melbourne.

I hope you enjoy watching the Dees in future without the pressures you have endured for the last few years!

Do you think when he left he said "so long and thanks for the fish?"

lol

What are you saying mate? Are we about to be demolished?

From the outside, it seemed as though Don was trying hard, but he really was on a hiding to nowhere unfortunately. I'm absolutely wrapt that these changes are happening, and truly feel that Peter Jackson is the man to steer this ship through the reef. Hope I'm not wrong, but time will tell. As for Kennett, well, I just don't know. He's definitely a proper goose, but at the same time his record speaks for itself. The whole thing of him bleeding gold and brown truly is a non-issue though. Most of our players weren't Dees fans as kids. His past attitude towards the club scares me a bit, and also the thought that maybe the Commission has something to do with all this as well, but that's a separate issue. It is the same as politics really. One party is proud of their record of putting females in cabinet positions, the other gets criticised for not having enough women in their cabinet. But at the end of the day, it is nothing to do with who you are (ie, female, male, ex Hawks prez etc) but everything to do with whether or not you are capable, experience, qualified, willing, keen, and able to take on what is a massive task.

And the rest. I know people like to think journos make everything up, but lots of leaking goes on.

I'm sure a few have met him though. Nice enough bloke for all that I totally disagree with a number of things that happened under his watch. I'm sure we will debate the pros and cons of his decisions now and into the future with I'm sure a fair bit of personal abuse thrown his way by those who don't know him, but I can't see the problem with at least acknowledging his efforts, as misguided as some of them were.

To anyone aiming vitril toward DOn i say leave the guy alone, he did the best he could and poured a lot of his hard earned money into the club and dont forget that Presidents dont get paid a cent for their work.

Aim you venom toward Cameron Schwab, that snake is the one that ruined us.

Thanks Don for answering the call when dear Jimma went down.

An extraordinarily difficult time for the club - really a no win situation for you and your efforts are most appreciated.

Hope you can join us in the crowd when the resurgence comes.

Best wishes with your future endeavours.

Don has deserted us in our darkest hour, meekly accepted the 500k tanking fine, and now just walked out the door, no handover to a successor, dropped Spargo right in it again, acting CEO, now acting President..

We are now easy pickings for Kennett.

It's all over.

Thanks Don. Understand you were a reluctant Pres . Thanks for the work you put in but nows the time for others to take the helm.

Enjoy your time as a member for surely things will kick on.

Cheers

Good riddance to the worst president ever.

Demons31 DM may not have been a good Pres but at least he had the TIME to put into the club unlike GL.
