Weird or pathetic, anyway today's findings will be interesting, on the AFL website it says they want a strong MFC and are willing to help out, I for one along with my family are very grateful for the AFL help, because when you think about it the way this board has run down this club since jim passed has been nothing short of disgraceful , the supporters should be thankful the AFL aren't throwing us out in the cold.

Mixed feelings about the AFL funding this restructure... but in a way they are also a reason why we are at this place.

We have to take responsibility for our actions, and so will the people at the club, I'm not blaming the AFL 100% here.

We made our poor choices.

BUT, where other clubs have struggled they have had pure access to 1 & 2 draft picks, look at St. Kilda from 200 to 2003.

However we had access to one year, 2009, before the AFL expansion clubs entered and were also competing.

To make matters worse they essentially funded GWS to take $cully, and they gave us the third largest fine in history for not tanking.

What I'm trying to get at is we put ourselves in this situation, but the AFL has kicked us a few times when we have been down.

You'll never see a reporter say this because of the AFL information drip, but its true.

I'd go cap in hand but I'm worried we will have the tag "only here because they got bailed out by the AFL"... I'll guess I'll have to say "remember you're playing our game, on our home ground" - First and (hopefully) forever

The expansion clubs are costing $200 million all up. They've made it harder for clubs currently at the bottom of the ladder to recruit (apart from the fact that we've done an awful job with what we did get).

I have no qualms about getting some support from the AFL in the environment they've set up.

I've stated before that I don't mind the idea of us being at ground zero, as long as we are definitely at ground zero and are starting to head upwards. Over this last year and half I have felt like we're going backwards with no sign of that stopping. Please let this next chapter be the turning point!

Spot on rufus. I too am not against the concept of a rebuild. I am annoyed that so much money was pizzed up against the wall and that so many people's hard work and donations amounted to nil. However, if that's where we are, that's where we are. Just make sure that we are heading in the right direction this time.

You are right. Sydney get a great deal. But Colless is right to. We have completely wasted so much over the last 6 years.

I hope this is when the AFL make it possible for the MFC to get the top people in.
