Jones was always a good gutsy player, he's just matured, Neeld has not improved anyone, they've gone backwards

Fair point well made.

I guess he also gave Jones the opertunity to be our no 1 go to mid, where Bailey had preferred Moloney

So BH, do you care to name any that have gone backwards as a direct result of Neeld's coaching?

It's actually a very simple answer - the entire 85%.

One thing football clubs know is that they must improve to even maintain their position, as clubs are getting better each year. If you're not improving you're going backwards.

Ho hum.....another "kick Neeld" thread.

I can't be bothered counting, but I would guess that there are maybe 30 going around.

I might start one next time that I am really bored.....maybe a "who will be sacked first, Gillard or Neeld?"

What dates the election? If it is before the end of the season then Gillard, if it's after then Neeld.

So every player other than Jamar is either as good or better than they were before, yet we're losing more often and by more? Justify this, please.

We are losing more often and by more because the people playing in our side this year are significantly different from the ones playing in our side last year or the year before that. Many of them are playing in different roles and it has been clearly demonstrated that the large margins are largely due to the midfield turnovers which continue to plague us and are a direct result of a gameplan that asks them to kick rather than handball and run. Many of the players I have listed were not playing senior games under Bailey or for most of last year. Some are still not playing senior games but are becoming dominant figures at Casey when they were previously barely commanding a spot. In all I can see the improvement as individuals. The team improvement will come with better co-ordination and more confident passing.

So Jones has improved, but you don't think Neeld can claim any credit for it?

Jones was not always the courageous hard-at-it leader we see today. When he started with Melbourne he didn't chase, tackle or make second efforts; he is massively improved as a player since then and whilst not solely due to Neeld and Misson they have contributed to his steady improvement!

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
