Apparently Damo has done an interview with Jackson to be showed on the sunday footy show tomorrow. So if you want to hear what he says and what changes he has made then tune in.

How could he have made changes. He has only been there since 1 May.

It's fascinating to really understand what Jacksons role is, and who he really answers to. If he's truly been put in by the AFL then I suspect it won't look good for Neeld and the Footy Department. It'd take a brave, and perhaps foolish political, move to tell the AFL that everything is in fact going swimmingly even though we only won 4 games for the year (again).

I don't think we are going to be illuminated much by tomorrow's interview. He'll say all the right things and I'm sure tell us that he's been impressed by the endeavour and passion at the club and is looking forward to helping us become as effective and efficient as possible over his tenure.

I'd love to know what he's telling Vlad though.

I don't think Jackson is there to make a call on the FD at this stage

I think he is in the position as he is a specialist at running and analyising corporations. He'll step in and make recommendations on how the club is run and how it can better use it's resources etc etc

I think he'll kick some asses for what it's worth and I hope he does. Not sure he's reporting back to the AFL but I am 100% confident he is in correspondence with Vlad. Would also love to know what is being said heart beats true!!!

Having the AFL on our side at the moment is not a bad thing!!

Personally I liked the sound of what he was saying. Not the content obviously, but someone saying it as it really is. It felt honest and, for one reason or another, thats been a quality a little lacking in how we've been communicated with as a supporter base lately.

We're a team with a really unique set of difficulties. A dwindling, aging supporter base, a home ground being taken over by other super clubs, no physical suburb to locate ourselves in and the type of " spoilt rich boy" image that is easy to degrade and mock. Thats just OUTSIDE the football arena itself. A whole other set of disastrous issues onfield.

In that sense we, more than any other club, needs AFL assistance. We're in trouble up to our necks and at another point in time we'd have been closed down or relocated. So, Im glad Jacksons there and if we can start to pull the AFL in on our side and recognise the depth of issues we ARE actually facing in an uber proffessional era. Maybe instead of sending attack dogs like Anderson on us they could actually HELP us.

Finally we can start to move forward from the disastrous appointments of the past.

The real question is do us supporters have the guts to stick with this club while real changes are made for the better???

It's going to be tough but this club needs some hard love - For mine Jackson is the Neeld of the administration, changes are gong to be made and people aren't gong to be happy. Do We have the guts for it?

It makes you realise just how much worse things were before Jim Stynes came along.

Brutal honesty and no punches pulled. He didn't paint it out to be pretty but in a short space of time he has identified issues to focus on. Get the impression from both the afl website interview and the interview with Mark Stevens that he might be in the role for longer than 6 months. Interpreting his responses, it's also evident that Cam Schwab still tried to be too involved with the footy department and how it was being run.

Interesting interview and although it hurts hearing we will have a massive loss, it also gives a glimmer of hope that Peter Jackson can identify these issues sooner rather than later and put stronger structures in place. Enjoy the ride demonlanders!

Jackson can actually command a level of respect with the people who he deals with, I'm not sure Neeld can. There is a big difference in the way they seem to go about things & the way they hold themselves.

I'm not sure it does. Jim's legacy will be getting the club out of debt but unfortunately there were some bad decisions made during his time that have effected the on-field performance of the club which in turn will effect the financial performance of the club. A catch 22.

At least we are in a position to absorb the loss even though it will hurt.

$1.5m is a big hole. Simplifying the structure should reduce administration costs, but it all rests on if we get another Future Fund grant from the AFL...

Well', you've just outlined the things that Have to be addressed, or we will Never, Never, amount to anything anymore..

We Are No longer the sole Club @ the MCG... and we have no spiritual supporter base Home. no grassroots homeground to go to training & gather together undercover, watching training & chatting, have a snag & a cold one...

these are the building blocks of grassroots, the bottom of that pyramid of growth. there is no room allocated for the people.... to begin with, only a fleece station here or there, with no emotional attachment to grip onto.
