On Tuesday we were only a couple of hundred behind what we were this time last year. So given the shite that we have gone through the last 8 months it is probably not a bad total.

Comparison to 2012:

March 14, 2013 - 26,751

March 14, 2012 - 26,791

50 behind. Nearly neck and neck.

what about 2011 HT?

28,068 on 11th March 2011 dc. Didn't have a 14th March update for you. Clearly like 2012, behind the eight ball that is the record year in 2011. Some 1,300 behind.

i dont understand why the club isn't more aggressive with memberships. I haven't seen anything on tv, heard anything on the radio or seen anything in the newspaper! why are there no ads in the paper rallying the troops for round 1, asking people to upgrade their seats etc.

Why doesn't the club offer new memberships such as an interstate 3 game package? charge em $1500 bucks to see us play interstate, put em in a hotel, fly em up, tour of the facilities, lunch at the game after game festivities etc. I know we don't have a great track record for attracting sponsors but an airline and hotel chain could be a start to sponsor the people that purchase these memberships leaving the money to go to the club.

it would also mean more support at interstate games instead of the 50 people behind the goals...

i would love to see us play at all stadiums in australia but it can cost around $1500 for just one game interstate.....

offer the same membership to interstate supporters to come to the "G"

would this be possible or do we need the big clubs to offer it first and then follow suit? thoughts

My thoughts are that a $1500 membership is not going to fly off the shelves...

Look, we can pad our numbers by heavily promoting 3 game memberships but we need people to buy a full membership.

It's tough.

Keep pushing the $90 3-game deal in Casey and get them on board.

If darwin games are to remain I would like to see some sort of package that a current member can upgrade with to promote members to fly to Darwin and watch the game

I'd go......It would be a great weekend.....

I'm assuming we don't have a membership tv ad? I certainly haven't seen it if we do. Even the Dogs have one, a decent one in fact which I've seen numerous times.

$1500 might be steep but if 100 supporters were to purchase its money to the club. the bonus would be traveling interstate 3 times with a bunch of demons fans. if 70K collingwood fans can purchase memberships while on centerline then surly MFC fans could purchase an interstate membership. I would love to see melb play in darwin, sydney and adelaide in the one season....

If you want to help the membership read Nineteens post and rock up to the MCG to do the phone out to members to renew tonight and next Monday or Tuesday

As for Darwin, the club does a couple of packages, last year was a fishing and footy with Neita I think, we went on our own but attended a function the Club puts on as well, they also do travel deals.

Signed up niece and her husband and 4 kids today for the Family Membership. The 3 older kids were members last year but the family package means it costs them nothing to go to Dees home games and inculcate the kids! Thay have 2 cousins who are Dees fans but they do have an Uncle who is a Hawks fan thus the urgency with the memberships!

Congrats on the new born it's always a great feeling to have a new one, the fact he is now a Demon is just an added bonus.

He will thank you for it one day.

I am surprised H_T and this will sound like sour grapes.

Are they taking off the members who have sent back their memberships?

Yes I know no one has!

It doesn't sound like sour grapes, it sounds pathetic....what the Club which is a business is now going to lie about the money it receives, you want to ring the Tax Office or me?

Satriconhome contrary to what you may think I am no lackey of RR.

I form my own opinion and then give it.

If it has elements the same as someone else so be it.

I don't cast aspersions at you because I don't agree with some things you say.

However I do take a large and strong offence at you suggesting I am happy if things at the MFC get worse.

How on earth can you come to that conclusion.

Just because I don't fawn over everything the Current administration do does not mean I enjoy their failures.

I have to go to the same games as you and watch the crap we have had this year and for the last three.

Give me a bloody break I love this Club and want nothing but success.

I will stop now before I say something I will regret.

Old Dee say what you like, you wont't upset me old chap, LIverpudlian and ex military, been there done that, got the t-shirt, it wasn't an aspersion, you were casting doubt on the figures, my answer explained the situation, ring the Tax Office and dob the Club in on their dodgy membership figures, we can always blame Cam Schwab. I don't fawn. Why do you keep revisiting everything, what do you want, are you going to take any action to rectify the problems that you say exist. Noboby makes you go to the games, yes it was horrible last week, but that was last week........

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
