Just taped this game, but watched the final quarter.

Tigers ordinary - their list will come under close scrutiny in 2013 (I know our team was worse) but in terms of making finals, I can't see it.

Nahas killed us - Shannon Byrnes may be a better pick up than some think if he can recapture some of his old form.

Tapscott is as hard as nails and loves a contest.

I'm glad Nathan Jones will get some support...welcome JV. Jonesy was hammered from pillar to post, but just kept on going.

Bail was very, very good and...

Good on big Stef who kicked the goal that stopped the Tigers getting into the eight (for that round, anyway)

I'm really enjoying the dissection without the emotion.

PS The umpiring is getting worse.

Bail was great that day.

Our small defenders remain a point of concern. Do you play Garland small where he's got speed and is reasonably accountable but also has a habit of going third man up and not influencing a contest or can we get Strauss fit an in form or can Nicholson improve his accountability.

What about the wildcards in Watts, Dunn or Tynan for small defensive regular spots.

I'm not sure 196cm watts is going to play as a small defender. I'm really hoping for Tynan to develop into that role, and I think Neeld might think the same after he gave him a taste of the action early this year.

I don't think Tynan should have been dropped after his r1 performance, either. He's tough as nails and I hope to see him pushing for senior selection early in 2013.

He was the most nervous player I've ever seen but it was his first ever game so it can be excused. He looks to have the goods. Hard, tough and will have some more bulk soon. He was unlucky to have such a bad concussion, otherwise he would have played a few more games in my opinion.

Tigers had half a team in that day......don't judge them on that performance

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
