Brent played 15 games for Melbourne this year -  in that period he had some standout games, particularly against Essendon and North Melbourne.  However, he struggled to perform consistently at the high level we expect from him.  At the end of the season, it has been well documented that Brent expressed his desire to look for an opportunity at another club, and we wish him well for his future. - Brian Royal (midfield coach) melbournefc.com.au

Brent Moloney joins the Brisbane Lions after eight seasons as a Demon having opted to leave the club as a free agent and to further his career under Michael Voss. Demonland thanks him for his service to the club and wishes him well at his new home.

Lost me when he dropped his bundle after being left out of the leadership group.... only proving why it was justified to leave him out of the leadership group. His style of footy was good when footy suited his style, but he could not, or would not, change it when the game evolved and times required it.

Too true.

It will be interesting to see if Voss lets him play it all on his own terms, or has the strength that Neeld has shown and demand he follow the team rules.

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock.     Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

    Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years.
