No one saw us getting clark last year but we did.

After what the club did to get him I am more then confident with the boys doing what ever it takes to get the player they really want.

We will see. It seems to me that the 3 most mentioned players that we appeared to be after are the 3 named today going elsewhere. Maybe it was all subterfuge and our real targets are others. Again we will see.

One major problem I see with this FA any half decent players are only being linked with teams already in the top half of the competition.

Good for evening up "not". Should be called the anti draft.

From the outside looking in, the club probably had more appeal at the end of last year even after 186. Given everything that has transpired against us this year, unless you're a supporter of the club or part of the new inner sanctum, it would be hard to find too many benefits apart from a better salary at the MFC.

I'm confident the coaching staff can sell.

It think people are confusing FA (i.e Cloke) with players wanting to shift clubs via a trade (i. Wellingham). In the former case (FA) the player has power to negotiate their way to the club of their choice, and their previous club has to suck it up and accept the compo from the AFL, in the later case the player's current club has the power to determine where the player goes via the trade system even if the player is not so happy on the destination (unless they want to try their hand in the draft).

Talk of deals where Caddy goes to X club and Wellingham to Y club are only done when their current club agrees to those deals, prior to that it is just argy bargy by players and their managers to try and get the player to their preferred club.

Yes back page. I suppose you have to take everything with a grain of salt until it is official.

Back page?

Those tidbits don't even get posted on the internet - that's an indication of how spurious they are!

My mates cousins husbands barber does Nathan Jones hair...said Viney will come to us 2nd round because GC and GWS are scared that if they nominate we will raid the clubs with our blank cheque book.

Sun saying Wellingham to WC, Lynch to Pies and Caddy maybe to Roos. No doubt how tough it is for us to get players to come to the MFC.

Im convinced the HS just makes these rumours up. A few people I speak to who claim inside knowledge at Carlton are convinced Lynch is still very much weighing up their side as a viable option. Secondly Wellingham's manager said they have had 'very little' interest in him from WA sides and far more from Victorian sides. Hopefully having Neeld and Leigh Brown on our panel might invite some interest from him. he would be an ideal inclusion in our midfield and someone once told me (this may not be true however) that he is mates with Jonesy.

Still got to fit them in the salary cap but you have a point

I was told last night that Bate is heading to the Doggies. They confirmed that Martin to Pies for Wellingham was in the works, but didnt say it was 100%. Said Rivers fairly certain to Cats as we already know.

They also said that Howie was pretty smashed on their end of year trip and fell off a scooter and scratched up his face pretty bad!

All your hearing are rumors so how can you make this comment until the trade period is over?

Who are these 3 player?

Nathan Jones must have a great barber, I always wondered how he go his head to shiny.

Wellingham, Lynch and Caddy. Of course they are rumours. Everything is a rumour until confirmation. That's what this thread is about. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what I said. If you are unsure, reread my post carefully.

I'm reading on this thread that we might have Wellingham.

Lynch is so old for our list he would be more suited for a team how can win a flag next season considering his 30.

And why would we want caddy for?

Like you wrote, let's see what happens.

My wife's cousin went to school with a certain player with the surname that rhymes with Fate... used to hear a few whispers from that way but none now days...

Someone else he claimed that Scott said Rivers was unlikely at Geelong??

Personally Wellingham would be an awesome up for the Dees. Caddy could be a good player but the dees have gambled on potential too many times for mine, forget him and concentrate on Wellingham for mine. Radio reported today that Lynch to sign with us but you know what the media is like this time of year...

If that's one of the 'scooters' in Bali, that might not be too comfortable.

From the Pennski file.

Stefan Martin still a chance for the Pies as the Dawes open for a trade.

Haha like Pennski!!!!

I'd be very happy swapping Martin & pick??? for Dawes...... a straight swap would be even better!

I would prefer to keep Martin. Dawes is in the Brad Miller mould of a good, average footballer. Martin could be better

I'm not going to get in to another argument about player potential... I agree Martin could be an good player

But potential is a dirty word - players can be 30 and still be choc full of petential.... About time Martin and a few others on the MFC list staredt prefomring now...... And in saying that I'll take Dawes everyday of the week over Martin

Martin sucks and is already 27

you gotta be kidding me that he would be preferable to Dawes
