FAREWELL STEFAN MARTIN - SEPTEMBER 2012

Featured Replies

I heard that; why would we want pick 73 what's the point?

Probably upgrade one/some of Evans, Magner, Couch, Nicholson.

MARTIN GONE TO BRIS FOR TWO LATE PICKS

Off to Brisbane for picks 53 and 73.

Confirmed.

Another last minute stupid trade for picks we won't use.

WTF is the point?

WTF, why are we stock piling picks post 49. We gave up our good picks for players, then give our players for sh$t picks.

We're clearly getting rid of players Neeld doesn't rate and saving some coin.

Another gumby gets pushed out the door.

To upgrade rookies????

We're clearly getting rid of players Neeld doesn't rate and saving some coin.

We still have to pay a salary cap minimum of 92.5% though, which means we're just overpaying some other average footballers instead.

To upgrade rookies????

We are expecting to upgrade 2, not 8

please tell me this is linked to Ray in some way ..... are we off the meds today?

Again, it's fine to trade them but why for no return?

I mean Martin is an agile tall coming into his peak. And we traded him for some 50cent coins and a hot dog.

You're loving this BH aren't you?

Sicko!!!

Source? I don't mean to be a dick, but every second thread these days says 'confirmed' and doesn't list a source.

frontloading contracts mate, will open up space for when we can target players next year, or when the window opens,

smarter than just paying duds ffs

So nothing from that that we can trade for Ray? I'd be really, really bloody interested to hear the logic of today's moves.

Our return is a spot on the list for the people we are bringing in, opening up cap space ect

Martin, Morton, Moloney and Gyserts were obviously not considered needed

We still have to pay a salary cap minimum of 92.5% though, which means we're just overpaying some other average footballers instead.

think it's 95%

Now we have a 'warchest' of late draft picks.

another poor deal done today

Oli, are you bitter that some of your predicted 14-Club trades didn't come to fruition, and in turn, wasted all that time you spent thinking up such deals?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
