Poor Tom, he has no friends.

Was gonna say he could buy some, but his Dad would probably eat them... Or at least cast them in the pit with the rancor....

Relief! But not playing half back please.

Awesome news.

Poor Tom, he has no friends.

He'll be gutted, gonna have to return the bunk bed to ikea now.

Pity it's only 2 years. I guess he'll have a clear pic of the club's outlook and be able to pull a much bigger paycheck then.

I Dont mind this approach, from all reports, he doesn't lack confidence, and if he's as good as he thinks he will be, why not play himself into a position to negotiate a better contract in 2 years time, more than likely with us.

Great news

Yep...pity its two years. But if we're still at the bottom like we are now in 2 years time he wont be the only one to jump ship. If we're going to hold these guys and pull new players in, in a free market, we've just got to move up the ladder and be a finals chance or we're stuffed. Blease and Howe resigning is great news and I think we're in for better times now.

I'll be looking with interest as the Doggies, and perhaps soon StKilda, try to rebuild in this new era. Glad we're not where they are.

Wrapt!

yahoo!!! he was a necessity for the dees to resign for the club to build and go forward! very bright future for him and hopefully that future remains with the dees for his entire career :)

I'm ok with it. We get to see how he progresses and he gets to see where we are at in a couple of years. Win win

True... if we were still in the same hole we are now in 2 years I wouldn't blame him for jumping ship.

Conversely if we are looking good and he was playing well he'd be better placed to be rewarded.

Good on him for sticking around. Players who can slot a goal on the run and in traffic are handy.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
