Daniel Connors

If he gets to the PSD or late ND pick like Sellar, he is worth the risk. Allocate him a Big Brother type, like Jones to get or keep him on track.

Just let Jones do what he does best, play football not be a minder.

Forget Connors lets find someone else to talk about for the next week.

The ******* of some of our supporters amazes me sometimes.

Hey, I hear Balotelli is available - we should get him too!

i'd be willing to pick him up if there is no-one better in the PSD or possibly a rookie pick. Sure he has stuffed up countless times, and he would be a massive risk, but if we get him for basically nothing and have him on a 1-year, minimum wage contract, why not? Neeld and Craig will not tolerate any crap and he'd be gone straight away should he even look like playing up.

He finds the ball at will and has a great kick, something that our list, but in particular our back-line severely lacks. He would also free up Grimes to move into the mifield, where he seems to be better placed than on the HBF. Stick Connors there to act as the sweeper. The positives far outweigh the negatives, imo.

Jones is already part of the leadership group. He has other responsibilities and does them well.

He is and he does but they do not include being a nurse maid to someone who has not shown any respect for the job of an AFL footballer, a job that so many would love.

Let Connors earn his place at a club by going back and doing the hard yards first, not getting yet another reprieve. I truly hope he can, I don't like to see anyone struggling with life as he has to date.

Hardwick doesn't tolerate any crap either and gave this serial offender the boot.

For a club that desperately needs a hard, disciplined culture I couldn't imagine a worse option for us.

Any good leader of any organisation will identify talent or recognise when some one is struggling and provide support and mentoring when needed. Im sure Jones does this anyway and Connors could provide good service if shown the way. It could be the making of a leader and their project.

At least get Connors to the club to train with the club pre season. Get a good look at him and see if there is some hope. Everyone deserves a chance. If the club believes there is a chance I'll trust their judgement either way. I believe the club will discuss him at some stage.

Is he actually any good at footy ? Haven't heard much about that side of him.

He can play Bif but he has had many, many chances. We have enough on our plate and need to look after our own first, there's too much work to do at the club without another distraction.

The problem is though, our club is so bereft of talent, we need to grab it any way we can find it, and make no mistake, Connors is a good footy player, he knows how to find it, and uses it very well by foot! Give me 2 players that can do that in our team........... hell give me one that consistently uses it good by foot!

Three chances are enough and be blew it. They weren't little things either. He is an incredibly blessed footballer and i watched him kill it iin Echuca as a kid but has always been known as a massive loose cannon.

He had mentors at Richmond also and they obviously didn't help.

Next.

Get him for sure, he hasnt done a lot wrong.

We have Sylvia, Jurrah, who have done more wrong than Connors.

So he takes a few sleeping tablets - so do 80% of AFL players.

Connors might run a muck on the turps, but his only real problem is that

he gets caught doing it - most players avoid getting caught.

Connors would be a score, just let him play, we need some classy lefties.

Do you really think he has only taken sleeping tablets? The bloke has had a heap of chances and I'm not sure if he is any good. If Jones was to mentor him it's hard enough that he will win the B&F and we all know what happens the year after someone receives the bluey. He doesn't need to look after a bloke who doesn't respect the opportunity he has in front of him.

no NO no and NO AND IF I'M NOT CLEAR NOOOOOOO

NO D-H POLICY

Does that mean we delist Sylvia and Moloney at years end?

I dont think we are in any position to be knocking back players the quality of Connors.

We rookie him, he stuffs up, we delist him, no big deal.

Its a risk worth taking, have a look at where we are on the ladder and how we have been

playing this year - we need to take some risks, get some older, quality, experienced players in.

Connors is that, he adds experience, talent, a great kick - which we need - and toughness.

If Connors plays VFL next year, watch him tear it up and sides will be lining up for him the year after.

Id rather him tear it up for us next year, even at the risk of a slip up.

Sylvia is contracted and Moloney is a free agent at year end. Its not about delisting but recognising the impact of players who are NQR off the ground.

God knows how much distraction and management effort Jurrah has been over the past 12 months. And the behaviours of Beamer and Sylvia are not issues to treat lightly or ignore.

Connors issues go deeper than just a few sleeping tablets. His inability to curb certain excesses in his behavour are unbelievable.

And FWIW, we dont necessarily have the bargaining power to "rookie" him if other clubs take a punt on him. MFC has had a 3rd world culture and I would be very careful adding a loose fuse like Connors to the list.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
