The Likely Picks?

Would like to see vineyard in the red and blue, but have the feeling that sheedy will put in a bid just to force our hand.

I think that since Todd is head recruiter now there may be a sneaky word in young jacks ear letting him know that 2 years is a very short time in the career of a young afl player and that a 5 year deal would be waiting to welcome him home. This would allow us to maximize our draft picks although witha bit of luck we could get an additional discretionary draft pick.for being so bad for so long

Cannot believe anyone thinks that we won't actually select Viney. Seriously?

Regardless of the pick, he will be coming to Melbourne.

All this talk of passing him up for another club with the promise of a big deal to come back to Melbourne in a couple of years is absolute horse chit and i cannot believe some of you actually entertain those thoughts. Get over it. If it is pick 3 (or 2 or 4 depending on the ladder positions) then so be it. If not all the better.

Sorry mate this will never happen and tod would vomit if his boy was playing for anything but the red and blue.

I also would vomit.

Give me viney before any of the kid's coming through anyday.

That's a high risk plan for a player we want. How do we guarantee the trade? In 2 years Jack won't be a free agent and we (hopefully) won't have the first pick in the draft.

like much in life we will have to suck it in somewhat. Have no doubt if anything can be "arranged " it might be but gee..if we have to pay out 3 for viney...is that the end of time ? hardly/ its still deliverance surely.

Jack is our first pick simple and he shows all the signs of being a very good player for our club. Some of you guys need to get a job in politics or writing spy thrillers with all the angles and manipulations suggested.

What is really important now is that we use our compo picks wisely, there are some good kids in this draft and we need to get the pick of the crop.

    CONSISTENCY by The Oracle

"I think we have got a team that can win a premiership, and if we get in this year, I don't think there is a team that is going to want to play us. This year is not a write-off, I don't concede that. Not at all." — Collingwood President Jeff Browne. I love this sort of optimism from the Magpie President after his club’s eleven goal defeat at the hands of the fast rising Hawks. It’s consistent with the fighting spirit of the club that won last year’s flag.  I only wish I could say the s

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium. Casey was welcomed to the Peninsula by grey skies, heavy rain and angry seas with threatening white-capped waves whipped up by gale force winds. After a slow start in the opening term when they failed to take advantage of the breeze, it appeared that the Demons had decided
