Never leave Demonland DC

Quite often you are the only thing about the MFC that makes me smile.

PS on IE again , just cannot seem to get my mind around opening Chrome

Must be the last MB I had on the way home tonight.

It's been getting hard lately reading/posting on demonland, what with having to wear a gas mask and all

I was thinking that this year instead of an inter-forum football match we should have an intra-forum contest with the apologists & pollyannas versus the doomsayers & chicken-littles - pitchforks at 20 paces should do the trick

Unfortunately DC I think I might fall into the Doomsayers camp.

I bet A & P get sharper forks!

Dam there I go again.

Ha ha ha !

True story - I played against Tony in 1976 (in the thirds) when he played for Reservoir/Lakeside . I was playing for Diamond Creek (Demon jumpers) and Shaw didn't look very likely to ever play League footy . We all knew he was Ray's brother but we never thought he would make it to VFL level . From that game he was the only player who did .

Just goes to show how far determination can take you . Barging into a tree whilst running in a marathon requires a single-mindedness that not many of us have ! Speaking of heads , I still shake mine at how much success he had as a footballer . I can still picture him from that game , running along the boundary line with the ball , not getting very far , very quickly !

All that aside , we could do with somebody like Shaw in our midfield right now . He serves as a constant reminder to me that the game is all about "Above the Shoulders ."

His commentary ain't great though !

Poor Tony finds it hard to get anyone to listen to him at the best of times but this latest gem shows what a philosopher of the game he is .

Tony comes from a family that thinks Melbourne supporters drive around in Rolls -Royces eating caviar ,drinking champagne and playing golf all day while they go and work in the boot factories where even poor dumb Tony can get a job .

Hes Right in my case except its a Range Rover ,

and in his case the old boot factory is now known as The Herald Sun .

Time to pop my bottle of Breakfast Moet and read The Age .

Biff friggin brilliant I [censored] myself laughing at your post man... That is after 3 Johnny Walker greens , a cigar and a little knee tickler I just gave my wife

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
