On Mick Malthouse ' Bushy Mick suggesting his former assistant has a session to erase all negativity and focus on whats gone right, might not be a very long meeting zzzzz'

To all in the media and the greater AFL comminty - bring it on!

The players should be hurting, they should more than even be united going forward. It will highlight who is not, and will be easier for Neeld to move players on at the end of the year.

I personally think the media has been quite kind given how things are.

I personally think the media has been quite kind given how things are.

That's because like us , they're lost for words how totally hopeless we are and can't fathom how far we've gone backwards.

No point getting worked up about people having a whack. Football commentators always seem to get personal with particular teams (see Paul Roos) - as long as we keep playing like this we're fair game IMO. We should probably get used to it.

I'm glad the MFC are getting whacked by all and sundry... eventually it might sink in that something is amiss and needs addressing.

Wondering when this [censored] would have the balls to raise his hand again.

Are you saying he's wrong?

I find the criticisms of Neil Craig to be incredibly unfair. He is the sports performance coach, not a director of coaching, not a tactical coach, he is in charge of making sure the players are at their best to perform each match. Now if the criticisms had been in that ball park I would understand but this one from Thomas is just stupid.

Other points not as insane. It will not happen as I'm sure he's enjoying being able to watch and analyse is a commentary box, but it would be sensational if Neeld could convince Mick to come on board in an advisory capacity. He makes a lot of points when talking about Melbourne that makes me think he'd like to get in here and help Neeld out (not so much us).

I'd give my right ball to have Malthouse in an advisory role. He could quite literally save this club. Not a bad thing to hang your hat on.

Stick the Russian down and full forward for the first half of a game

Put Beamer in the back pocket. How often does he spray his team mates! Try defending with no midfield pressure 70 times a game

the statement, if true of course, that neeld told Maxwell that Jamar and Moloney don't listen to him would be a concern, probably all bollo*%s though

No probably about it. Crackers writing is fiction. The thought that MN would be talking to Nick Maxwell about our players is patently absurd.

Well, these two players on free agency list. Vague rumours that Moloney is looking for outs. Has been reported that Jamar is ready to sign when the contract appears in front of him. Hmmm. So why hasn't it been offered yet? Time will tell if its all bull.

Grant just doing some low grade PR work for Footy Classifieds.

The guy is a circus clown. His "analysis" and "insights" are self evident and he's too lazy or stupid to offer any real solutions to our predicament.

i dont trash the club but that doesnt mean what he is saying is wrong

Heres my take.

1. Thomas never got over us beating the saints in that final (which was such a great game) in 05 or 06. Great game. Always good to get the last laugh when saints supporters get in your face

2. Malthouse is already involved in the club. He loves Neeld, he goes to weekly coffees with Aaron Davey. he also said on Saturday that Essendon were flag favourite and said our list was ready to explode so he isnt always right. Neeld will be getting advice from malthouse AND Craig or Im a horse.

3. Neil Craig is a great appointment and time will prove this blanket statement correct.

4. If by not listening Jamar is ignoring Neeld's and just about every supporters request to not only win the tap, but tap to advantage, then it could be true. Still he is winning the tap - just has to think about where it goes and we might have a hope.

5. the comment about Moloney and lack of midfield pressure is probably the most accurate post Ive ever read here!!!

Such an accurate observation! Well done.

It's amazing that two people can read the same sentence and get two completely different interpretations. Firstly, we deserve a whack because we're crap. Actually, we're worse than crap, we're worse than both GWS and GCS.

Now, let's get to what Thomas wrote, and he's exactly correct. Look at the message he's saying, every single one of them is highlighting what the problem is, it's all about the players and their lack of effort. Everything he's saying is true, we need to start acting and playing like victims and go hunting. Sadly, I don't think most of our senior players are capable of it though.

Can't agree with the first sentence, but he's bang on the mark with the rest of it. He may have a bit of a dislike for the Dees, but I really couldn't give a [censored]. In this instance, I just want the players to realise that their effort is nothing short of pathetic, and without a massive upgrade in effort, success will never come. No matter how much talent they have, who the coach, who the sports performance director, or the fitness guru or anyone else on the coaching staff may be.

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
