I know it's going to be damn tough, but any positives amongst the gloom?

Clark's competitveness, Jones still putting in a good effort, yep I'm struggling, but I am trying.

one goal to half time

...but only 15 less disposals to sydney 197 to 182

maybe they should try keepings off... ffs DO SOMETHING

Demand 100%. Demand every chase. Demand every tackle. Demand every contest.

Any less and you're in line to be dropped and someone else comes in. Screw consistency in the side.

We keep saying this of every team that loses - 'their intensity was down, they didn't chase or tackle'. There comes a point where a lack of intensity is not the answer, and that point is surely reached where a team has copped it seven weeks in a row from all angles telling them such, but don't appear to be playing any differently.

Our problems run deeper than a lack of intensity.

There in the huddle now just before the second half...and I can't even look at them...why ? Because they are not believable.

Hard to believe that these guys paid the same amount as the opposition.

At least there's still The Robbo Show. It's the only thing I've got left to look forward to each week.

haha. do you notice how robbo tries to avoid bringing up the topic of this season....

Watts.

Blease has shown glimpses.

Jones and Clark are givens every week.

At least when we lost under Bailey (which was, disturbingly, less frequently than we are losing under Neeld) we would see glimpses of talent for a portion of the games.

I agree.

Even some of the worst games we had gave me some hope for the future, because I'd see us play good footy, if only in patches.

I struggle to think of many moments from this season that have heartened me.

Blease's dash has been impressive, right?

Don't even....

no, no, you're right, we'll be 0-11, may not win a game all year, despite having a better list than last year, oh and we were better when we were tanking... Neeld must be an awesome coach and it's not his fault at all..... (catch that sarcasm?)

That's cool don't answer my question.

Just lose the plot and be sarcastic insults referencing people who have a blindness.

Well done. Feeling better?

Wonder if pendlebury alone last night will outscore the whole mfc tnyte.

nearly 3 wks away, no contact with footy at all, (lucky me), hoping to see ANY improvement in that time away, but as I probably have this club so ingrained into my soul, i deep down new it would all b the same as usual and it is, sooooooo shattering again DEE's

Do a Blight as someone else said. Sack half the team. They arent up to it and they arent even trying. We'd be better with just kids. Just useless by every measure.

damn it howe kick a fekken goal

Can he? I think he can just mark...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
