I would like my fellow demonlander's thought's on chris connley and cameron swabb. My mate in W.A thinks as long as we have these guys in our club we will fail. I have been a fan of swabb would love someone to tell me if cameron swabb's blue print is just rubbish and he said on that whiteboard show we were at base camp in 2010. i Think we are well and truely at base camp now that's 2 years ago. Maybe this blue print is just crap. Please tell me your thought's on our CEO cheers.

Both should be sacked ASAP for the sake of our club. Time is running out.

I have a mate in WA who says exactly the same thing. In fact, a lot of footy fans in WA loathe CC and CS.

Both should be sacked ASAP for the sake of our club. Time is running out.

How is sacking both of them going to help?

Surely you jest?

This remonds me of the day we were playing hawthorn at Waverley getting thrashed and a huge cheer went around the ground because they put the score up on the scoreboard showing Fitzroy had defeated Fremantle and won there 1st game putting us on the bottom.

Look I suspect we wont stay at the bottom but geez the round after our bye is interesting against GWS. We wouldnt want to get 2 games behind them. I will be a nervous wreck that day.

There is no point calling for the coach to be sacked. Neeld is 7 games in to a 3 year contract. I have faith in him and what he is trying to do. I think the attiude of the players need to change and once we get a win whenever that will be it will be a big sigh of relief.

Its a shame the Gold Coast arent a victorian team because thet would cop it here. The focus should be on them. They have all these young players from there draft picks and they have Ablett, Brown and other experienced players. This is a team that almost beat Essendon and nth a few weeks ago. Im tipping this would be on of the darkest days in Gary Abletts career.

We have viney in charge of this draft which is a super draft. I love viney but we need the best scouts going around as our clubs future is in the hands of the next up coming draft. I would think this should be the boards number 1 priority right now.

This one I agree with you on Big Jim. Why we have a makeshift recruiting head is totally beyond comprehension to me.

Both should be sacked ASAP for the sake of our club. Time is running out.

...and I think these guys have a lot to answer for too, they are the common thread that runs through the last 4 plus years. The elephant in the room that the board must address. Even the media tip toe around this one, Tim Watson says the fish rots at the head and then goes no further, Greg Denham has little pot shots at CS and goes no further, Gary Lyon won't because they are his mates. At least lets get everything out in the open, let's rebuild properly or we will fall over.

What is Brian Cook worth to this club?

There is no doubt we are

the worst team in comp.

Pathetic bunch of pea hearts coached by some one who won 3 flags with ocean grove only because they bought players, no one else could afford.

CS is out of contract at the end of this year isn't he? He's well and truly gone at the moment. Landing a couple of big sponsors won't save him now. The players are clearly [censored] at something. We are bad, but we are not as bad as 18th on the ladder

Choco and Connolly are in trouble too.

And no doubt we are the most fickle supporters in the comp. We can do the kind of 360 on a player, coach, or administrator, that would do a stunt driver at the Royal Melbourne show proud.

Rubbish! For too long MFC supporters have quietly accepted failure and have NOT voiced passionate concerns about the club!

Apparently the sky is falling. Oh dear, oh my.

Breaking News... This Season is a WRITE OFF !!

other than drafting its irrelevant where we finish.

Time to pension off the non-performing once-was-senior players together with any other "I dont really want to be at Melbourne" types and build a team.

18th... (or last ) ..Been there done that. Hardly the end of times folks.

Good for list management I say -_- B)

Heads up.... this isnt failure.... Its a beginning. A long road ahead...but its ahead.

Connolly has nothing to do with the players now.......CS has to job of running the club....which has demolished a 5 million dollar debt....The board has spent money on the FD and brought in a very professional team which are 6 months into their tenure....I understand it is very frustating......It's about the players understanding a defensive mindset which will win games and finals not just look pretty every now and then....We will suck it up and we will go forward even if you can't see it now......By the way CS is not responsible for how the players play.......Connolly was has the best record as a coach at Freo........

Not quite yet. CC and CS are still with us.

What a load of doomsayers post on this site. Sure we have been very poor, but given the draw and 186 (and the following matches last year) how many matches did anyone realistically think we'd win by now. Possibly 2 perhaps. Let's see what happens when the players have game time to adjust to the new game plan.

Whatever the new plan is, it is clear that the players say they are having to adjust. Give them some time to do so FCS.

And as for the many posts which effectively saying Neeld is an idiot, do those posters think they know more than an assistant coach at a successful club? Do they think he is not aware of the shortcomings in what is happening? What about assuming he does, but wants to get our 'soft' players to build a defensive mindset and skills and later let them play 'natural' attacking footy. And get them fit since it seems for some reason they aren't up to AFL fitness levels. Blame the past for that, not the present.

Sue, I'll put it very bluntly - Neeld was a bad choice by a group of people who didn't know how to conduct such choices!

The real issue is 'where to go from here'.

Im yet to see a demons supporter spit on their players.

The blame falls flatley with the board who hired neeld as head coach.

Neeld has taken us so far back that we would struggle against half of the VFL.

News flash: I'm not sure we could go further back than how we finished off last year. We haven't played GWS or GC yet, unlike other teams and last night felt much the same as against the Hot Hawks last year.

I have to say im one of the most one eyed MFC fans ever but all this weak talk has got to stop we have had the best draft picks for the last 5 years and we have some how gone backwards and now sit 18th below GWS and GC ALARM BELLS MUST RING NOW give me a break

its quite obvious that this year is just a training year, look at it as a season of practice matches coz that all it really is. The football department don't care where we finish, the coach dosnt either, his just trying to slap the players in line at the moment. This is gonna take a few yrs, and curse me if u want but the fact is the lower we finish he better it is for the future this time round.

And on what do yo base your opinion that he was a bad choice? He is 7, yes count it, 7 games into a senior coaching career. He has had to revamp the entire coaching team, he has had to try to introduce the players to a game plan and he has had to deal with all manner of outside issues. Remind me again, how long did it take Bomber to have success with the Cats?

Im yet to see a demons supporter spit on their players.

Yeah, I'll give you that... but I really dislike the way we will be lauding players one minute and have them up for trade in the next.

And further more while I am on my soap box. What is Todd Viney doing for this club? Another of the old boys club. Last season he was the most unenthusiastic gloomy interim coach I have ever seen. And before that who the he'll knew what his role was? Seems like his only value is the chance to grab his son.

the only player Ive lauded this season is Mitch Clark.

He's been interviewing possible future recruits with the AIS boys, and plenty of other ground work. I'd be getting off your soap box quick smart.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
