He has not played yet

But the post you were responding to stated: "So after this game who are the ones who havn't had any match time?" - unless you are assuming that Cook won't be given time on the paddock ;-)

That is correct hardtack I am assuming he will not make the cut.

I am also assuming the number of players allowed is less than we have nominated.

In case you have not guessed I don't think he is up to it at this point.

It's an NAB cup match, it's not about being up to it or not. It's just about giving the players some experience, trying them out, working on structures etc. etc. Basically, a practice match.

Bing181 as I understand it we are allowed a total of 26 players for the game against the Pies this weekend.

We have listed 29 so that means 3 have to drop out.

I think Cook will be one of those 3.

That is my basis for saying he is not up to it at present.

Which 3 would you leave out?

Interchange: Teams will have two interchange players and two substitutes in rounds one and two, with the option to replace up to four players at half-time in the full-length second-round matches. The interchange reverts to the premiership season rules (three interchange, one sub) in round four.

Assuming the above is correct from the FOX Sports website we will need to go with 26 players next week (18+2+2+4). Of the players that missed last week I believe Trengove and Blease are certainties to return but unsure of the availability of the others. Assuming only Blease and Trengove to return we will need to cut 5 players from the weekend. Which 5 players would you cut from the tri-round squad? I expect that Couch, Magner and Nicho will be given every opportunity to fight for a rookie spot so would think the following would be the ones I would go with on the basis of team balance and performance.

Joel Mc (errors and balance)

Fitzpatrick (balance)

Bennell (poor game)

Gysberts (poor game)

T-Mac (balance)

Zipp out of five. You don't seem to understand what the pre-season is all about.

I was unaware at the time that Grimes would hurt a shoulder and we would rest 4 further players with soreness. So pretty much we are saying that no one was actually dropped from the squad. If they had all pulled up well I still believe these guys would have been in the gun. I still have not seen your list of 5 outs. Easy to pick someone off when you dont respond to the query yourself.

He did not make it hardtack so he is one of a few who have not played.

After Injury etc I think he is destined for a season at Casey.

At present probably where he should be.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
