No. It was Gold Coast who got him.

I want to know what the f's happened to Clutterbuck and Tuck?

Pick 42. James Magner

From Sandringham Zebras, he is a 24-year-old player. He is a clearance specialist with a relentless attack on the footy.

Leigh Williams

He is a powerful key forward, an excellent kick for goal and a one touch player. He is a very good contested mark.

Two tall fowards with strong hands and two hard body in and under types.

Not bad. Goes prety much in line with the pies game plan.

They came back up and corrected it, he went to the Suns.

OK, that makes sense as he trained with them.

Looks pretty good by us, two hard mids and two talls, one a bit older and the other once rumoured to go top 30 in ND.

surely that's Tom Couch?

I think the FD has done well again.

You can't complain about those selections.

I didn't think we had a hope in hell of getting Jai Sheahan

But Leigh Williams and Crouchy have been standouts at training.

Can't say know much about Magner apart from what I've read today.

I guess Brett Lovett may have had some input.

Great result and congrats-BP and crew, will enhance the list incredibly.Burnett not being picked up surprised me and getting Manger whom is already developed surprised me as well.

GO DEES GO.

Gee. That means Phil Scully misses out.

I hear that he ate their picks list.

So Im guessing Williams sounds like he play round 1 at FF with Clark at CHF??

Remember Guys these are just Rookies.

Most likely will play at Casey this year.

I would have thought a sure thing as a rookie draft-horse

I like the selections, two ready made inside mids in a good age bracket, and two project KPF which is really positive.

There may be a few players drafted who can play early next year, with Magner, Couch, Taggert hopefully one can get in early

So we are going to add these 2 to the list of Watts, Clark, Lucas Cook (a first round draft pick), Jack Fitzpatrick, plus possibly Davis, Tom Mac and Sellar. As Neeld continues to say, we will see a different team in 2012, which is great, but it's 2013+ that I'm wanting to see a premiership team, so there will be pressure on some of these guys to step up/develop quicker.

Let's not get carried away here.

One was a first round pick that we spent a first round pick on, the other was playing in the Essendon footy league last year...

Watching training today, if Jai Sheahan is there in the third or fourth round we will take him. I think we will take Leigh Williams, Couch, Sheahan and Cutterbuck

Three out of four was a pretty fair effort drdrake!

Eastern Footy League! Makes a big difference.

Dan Nicholson was also playing in the amateurs too but everyone loves him so what's the difference? It was only a question, not an opinion.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
