Jeepers,it sounds like they've caught the Dees Disease. Obviously there aren't too many Dees putting their hands up for elevation next week.

If that team listed is the one out on the park getting this drubbing, some questions need to be asked... Much stronger Casey side listed when compared to the Cats... On paper anyway

How on earth did davey get listed in the best? He was ordinary at best. Gawn, mcdonald and maybe bartram were just ok the rest forgettable passengers. Bennell was one of the worst on the ground just didn't chase. Wall and mohr as usual dependable and fev did his part, with limited supply. Lots of very inexperienced and short casey players out there today I had seemingly never seen play before. What a long torturous eight quarters of football that was to watch today!

Just looking at the Best... Davis Bartram Gawn Morton Fevola Davey

Apart from Fevola (for obvious reasons), who deserves to be elevated for next week?

Or was our best player for the arvo Jack Fitzpatrick... could we get him straight into the 22 from the ressies?

Rocked up at the 25 min mark of the 1st quarter for Casey's game. Troy Selwood kicked a couple in quick succession when I arrived and the scoreboard at quarter time told the story.

Fevola did kick goals, one was from a free kick for push in the back. However, would never want him representing the MFC. He spent most of the 2nd quarter by himself walking in the F50 with his opponent 30 metres away and at one stage his direct opponent had the brains to run up the ground and set up goals for Geelong. He seemed disinterested. Didn't see him on the ground after half-time.

Cale Morton - no confidence. In the last quarter a backward pass in our F50 and under no pressure dropped the mark. All day though he hesitated, missed targets.

Aaron's first game back was what you would expect from someone out of the game for so long. Had some nice tackles, but nothing to write home about.

Joel Macdonald tried all day. The Geelong pressure was telling and he was caught in possession a couple of times, but he was trying to create some run.

I may not of been there, and yeah you can't fault Fevola for not going with his man.

BUT how many times this season have Melbourne rebounded and NOT had someone sitting inside forward 50 to kick to cause they all push down the the ground.

THIS is something we need to do, not everyone can push down.

Which Melbourne Forward would you think would consistently beat his man one out? Jurrah is the only one that is capable but at the moment his form stinks. The others simply are not good enough.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
