I still think he is more worthwhile than Maric. Aussie is a great kick but more importantly, a good user who knows how to find the right spots. Maric is a good kick, has good skills, but can't put it together.

Aussie may not be fit until round three or four. He will effectively be missing the first four or five weeks of pre-season. Not ideal but if he manages not stack it on over the lay-off, he might be OK.

Who cares if he's better than Maric? Both will be delisted; it's not a choice between Maric and Wonaeamirri.

Aussie's obviously got a lot to offer as a player, but senior list spots are like gold. I really feel for the guy with what he's been going through, but this is a tough business and the club can't wait forever. I agree with the delist and rookie listing approach. The player still gets full support from the club and the bills paid for another year, and the club can still harness the player if he's able to get it together mentally and physically without being a player down if he can't. This is the best result to be had in an unfortunate situation.

Sampi had more control over the kitchen implement than Wonna had over his fathers situation. Sampi's issues were very much in his control regime. Wonna's issues are not on a par. There are better analogies for Wonna than Sampi.

Rhino forget what you may have read on Wickepedia or in the press the incident you are referring to was the final straw in a long list of off field transgressions, incidents and problems he was having, most of which were kept from the media.

After this incident WCE and Sampi sought treatment for a condition he actually had no control over. It was a cry for help. To my knowledge he is the better for the help he has received

I am glad Sampi is turning it around. His off field situation is indeed sad and destructive and has been for some time. Some of the issues did not make it the Press but he has had his demons for some time. IMO he was more talented than Wonna and could really have been a player but his decent into his personal hell has been far darker and nastier than the difficulties Wonna has had to deal with.

Well lets hope we are both proved wrong and Wonna comes back pre season trim and full of desire, plays to his potential and becomes a key crumbing forward in a regular Top 4 contender and hopefully greater things
