Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Have to disagree.

Geelong had 31 scoring shots to 20 and 65 inside 50's to 39. The Cats missed a few easy ones too while Port's last two goals came out of their backsides. Had Geelong kicked straighter, it could easily have been a blowout.

Kudos to Port for their great season but I suspect that clubs will now start working them out. Their entry into the forward 50 is often very wide and hence, their inaccuracy.

Have to disagree. A lot of the Cats misses were rushed or from further out and not gimmes.

Port missed a number of shots from straight in front, one by Boak 10 metres out. They were dominating at the time. Kick those and and instead of 23 points up at half time it could have been it could have been 50.

Yes Geelong dominated the 3rd quarter but if they were 50 down at half time I think Port would have hung on.

Also I thought that the Cats got some soft goals from frees,

Anyway, with those 4 goals at least added, then Port wins.

Whatever, as long as the other mob are out of sight.

But Freo is still in the Finals!

I just want the Purple People to be 10 goals up in the Grand Final at three Quarter time and lose the game by 1 point.

Then the 2013 AFL Season will not be a total waste.

Its good to see the demon colours triumph across the nation

Milawa had a comprehensive victory over Glenrowan in the grand final

Dont know that there's any prospective recruits and imagine there will be plenty of Brown Bros product consumed as well as the usual Mad Monday ale.

Not me. I will be supporting the winner of the Freo/Swans final in the GF.

South Fremantle, East Fremantle or just Fremantle I view them all the same. The Enemy!

Plus I was at a Corporate Function with Fremantle this year and they when taking the micky out of the MFC. A few years ago at a game with my Dad their mascot went to shake my hand and then gave me an insulting gesture as I was wearing MFC gear. The more I see Fremantle the more want them to lose.

But agree with Sydney winning the Flag.

West Perth's Reserve side has also made next weeks Grand Final. So it will be a West Perth v's South Fremantle Reserve GF.

At this stage it could be a Perth Derby League GF with West v's East. But it only the second quarter in the Preliminary Final.

The Red and Blue are unstoppable LOL

Unfortunately I think the Swans are going to get pumped.

They will have to front up next weekend battered and bruised.

Freo Easy IMO.

Hawks will be too good for Geelong, Chapman suspended and there goes four goals.

Hawks vs Freo GF

Go Hawks

I am rapidly losing interest in the football.

Uni Blacks went down yesterday in the Prelim, but it has been a good year after winning the Second division last year to make a prelim in the first year back in the top division is a good result.

My country team is out.

My major interest is now Norwood in SA and the Falcons in WA.

The up side is the NBL starts in a couple of weeks time.

OD I can confirm it will be an West Perth (Falcons) v's East Perth (Royals) WAFL Grand Final.

Results:

Round 1 Mar 16 West Perth 19.18 (132) East Perth 9.3 (57) Arena Joondalup

Round 11 Jun 3 East Perth 17.12 (114) West Perth 14.11 (95) Medibank Stadium

Round 19 Jul 27 West Perth 10.14 (74) East Perth 6.8 (44) Arena Joondalup

Games went to the Home teams during the season. GF will be played at Subiaco (Paterson) Oval.

East Perth Home Ground was once called Leederville Oval which was the Home Ground for the Wast Perth Football Club for well over 70 plus years. In 1994 the Falcons moved to Joondalup to improve its recruiting / zone plus financial incentives.

That's disappointing to hear.

I am with OD on this one. One part of me doesn't really care, and thinks that a case could be made why each of the three who will miss out "deserve it". Another part of me (the loyal Victorian) is always happy to see Sydney or Fremantle lose rather than Geelong or Hawthorn. A win for the latter will make my father-in-law happy, but as unpopular as it may be on here, I think I actually want Geelong to win. But if they don't, I am sure I will find a reason to be happy about it ...

Interesting!

A point my father has made to me on many occasions.

"Son why are you supporting a Victorian team and Melbourne at that?"

"Because Dad the only good Fremantle team is a totally defeated one, plus I hate the Eagles for what they did to West Perth!. I will never support either of the two local AFL teams!"

Does this view make me a Bad 4th Generation West Australian ?

I actually consider myself very loyal West Australian (Sandgroper) but still support and a member of the MFC. Which I am a much more passionate supporter of then I ever was as a WCE supporter. I would even go as far to say that for the first time I feel more passionate about my AFL team then my local WAFL team (another Host Club arrangement just has me wondering why don't they just close down the WAFL officially, instead of this stupid policy of driving away any remaining supporters from the competition)

AFL is what I had called Corporate Football as it focuses on making money over having a fair and equitable competition e.g. the Collingwood's dream Home & Away Fixtures. Player moving between teams is now also very much encouraged, so IMO there much less loyalty to Clubs and the Players. Player recruitment seems more like the old Viking raiding party on another Football Club, just take what you want without really giving anything back.

My West Australian Team is the West Perth Falcons who once was called the Victorians (original Club name) which was established in 1885 (older then Collingwood) and remains a members owned Club.

My Australian Football League Team is the Melbourne Football Club due to also being the oldest Club in its League (any League really) its colours, theme song and a members owned Club,

The WCE is owned by a company and the Dockers is owned by the WA Football Commission which also owns all the shares of the WCE parent company as well. Therefore both of them are not membership owned so why should I support or be a member of either of these teams?

Anyway Go Sydney, Hawks, Cats!

The Purple Plague can go stuffed!

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
