Casey is going to be a big side this year. Obvious why they got rid of Fev.

yes I am really interested to see how Williams performs.

Nice to see a recruit who is not a skinny development project.

Folks ... I think this thread is going to peter out unless we find a new angle.

Who do we have on our list to fulfil the role that the unmentionable one was set for before he jumped ship?

Would have thought Gysberts or even Evans.

J.Viney may be the comparable one..unfortunately. Even though he isn't quite on the list, just in presence.

2012 Membership Calendar: Ins & outs from 2011.

Ins

Trengove

Petterd

Outs

Morton

Bate

I find it impossible to read anything into the changes, but surely someone will find a way!

(it's obviously the off season, the drafts are done and dusted, and there's bugger all to discuss).

I'll go with Gysberts, but he'll need to develop his engine x lots.

I think in its in the public interest to discuss the Prime Minister's wage of $485k p.a. At first, I considered this to be an obscenity and then I thought about it and when I took into account that one AFL footballer with a wonky knee is going to take home $2m next year and his old man is going to get $2k per week watching 17 & 18 y.os running around on the weekend, I came to the conclusion that Julia's pay is just about right.

Many posters on this particular thread would be familiar with the influence of Molly Meldrum over the years.

Molly is currently in a coma after a fall at his home.

Yes, he's been weird and whacky at times and he barracks for St. Kilda but he's been a lovable part of the scene since his Kommotion days.

Let's pray for his return to good health.

Agree 100% WJ

I was rung last night by my daughter at 9.00 PM she had just heard it on the radio.

I am surprised how much it has affected me.

Absolutely. Molly has been an integral part of the Australian popular music scene for almost as long as I can remember. Weird and whacky definitely, but also a key part of the structure. Get well soon Molly.

I have worked with Molly a few times over the Years....He is part of the Furniture..Terrible in front of a camera, But we did get this piece of Genius in 1980 because of Molly's complete incompetence

Let us also remember that Molly back in '66 fainted during the last quarter of the Grand Final, thus missing the Saints win the flag! He was a cheer squad member...Hahaha my favourite Molly story!!

Bob Hawke's reaction always cracks me up!!

I always loved the fact that Bob coined the phrase " little Johnny Howard" to describe his opponent, when in fact Howard is a couple of inches taller than Bob. I have met both a few times and can vouch for that.

PS. John Howard is an extremely friendly man and whether you come from his side of Politics or not, you have to admit that he tried to improve the country. Bob and his sucessor Paul Keating unlike Howard ended up making millions from their political contacts and it always leaves me wondering about them.

Any way back to the real issues on this thread and yes readers I had a banana smoothie this morning for breakfast at Phamish in St. Kilda. It was ok but should have been colder.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
