I do hope the poor staff at that establishment had some form of protection.

Bitter in Bangers

A very seedy bitter  I have club privileges at my Bangkok inn - free booze at the rooftop bar  Made a welter of it last night . Guts full of beer and into the red. An ordinary Chianti that became outstanding after about 6 glasses  The staff applauded me as they hadn't seen so much booze quaffed since a sumo visited a few years ago  A quiet chunder into the pot plants wasn't so well received

And some very good news! The tinea is in full retreat! A visit to the "Doctor Fish" did the business . It was an epic battle but the little B lighters stuck to their task manfully. Heavy casualties though as a good proportion of them ended belly up  Nevertheless Bitter's pinkies are currently pink

Anyway toodlepip as I'm of to a place called "Soi Cowboy "   I believe there is a rodeo or some similar attraction

Uncle Bitters re: " Soi Cowboy" was that a casual bring your own six gun, put on your ten gallon hat, plus spurs and where are your 'chaps'  night out or was more formal evening attire jodpurs and a malacca cane de-rigueur? pip pip!

Well ... torp, dress code didn't seem to be an issue.

As to the ambience ..... hmmm let me say, I felt just as comfortable as if I was at home at The Manor.

Has anyone seen Ernest lately? I have been sitting on a daiquiri for hours here in Manly at Hemingways, still hasn't shown up.

Good point Uncle but then who is the Ernest who keeps posting with us? I am starting to think Twilight Zone stuff myself. Come to think about it, while I was on my 5th daiquiri at Hemingway's I saw this guy in the corner, in the shadows with black hair smoking a cigarette and talking to a camera I couldn't see!

Time for me to get out of Manly I think.

Yes  back to the warm embrace of your Fitzroy enclave Earl.

There is a limit to venturing into dangerous teritory

Womens tennis is good for one thing, and one thing only.  But that one thing is not so good for my eyesight so I have been told.

On the flip side, I could hear a cat fart 3 blocks down from my place.

warning moonie.........your game is up, mate

Mooning is now illegal in Victoria with those who bare their bums facing up to two months behind bars from July 1.

The law is part of an overhaul of 50 sexual offences designed to crackdown on offensive and abusive behaviour while modernising police powers.

First-time offenders will face a maximum of two months in jail while repeat offenders face up to six months.

Changes to the Crimes Amendment (Sexual Offences) Act 2016 describes mooning as someone exposing their rear end.

I just have wonder if the size of the bum has any impact on the sentence dc?

Perhaps Red could provide a legal opinion for us.

If this were the case Uncle it would discriminate against women surely?

Clayton Oliver exposed a bum on Sunday. Said bum should be fined proportionately for his salad dodging.

You are either very brave or insane to take that line Earl.

I, being of totally cowardly disposition, shall offer no comment.

Uncle I take note of your comments. I am more than ready to undertake whatever  practical measurements are necessary to back up my theoretical ascertions about gender based physical differences. In fact Inlook forward to the opportunity.

Once again we play a team at full strength with a two day longer break, while we have major injury problems.

At least Jetta can take Betts and Vince / Sloane. That is half way to beating them. Although Melksham will go to Sloane for some reason because he can tag just as well without doing as much damage the other way.

If Milkshake can find his niche as a good tagger while still getting possessions, that will help us.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
