A while since I've looked in on this thread. How on EARTH did it become a FOOTBALL thread - AND in real time!?

Aghast I am!

Yes, I'm not sure who snuck the footy in hereย

Welcome aboard DC your detailed knowledge of ancient history will be invaluable on our tour as you will be able to describe all the ancient sites that we won't be stopping at. We can only travel at night,ย will be avoiding towns and bunkering down during the day under camouflage. This is when you can do you lectures on Byzantine art and Assyrian architecture.ย

Poor soul...you had to drink Bud. At least they could have served sime decent Canadian beer, not that American flavoured water.

I'm afraid Budย was as good as one can getย Maple. Maybe the choices would have been better from business class but beggars can't be choosers.

My biggest concern is, how do these travel companies determine that say, Bud,ย is a better brew than Coopers et alย ย when it clearly isn't. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say or in this case the "beerdrinker"

...And by the way, are its regulars jockeying to become the 20,000th poster, shuffling in the queue to win the choccies?

And will it be on the nice round 800th page?

Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen (and posters)

No, the regulars here are not lovers of the meaningless stat. They just enjoy the highbrow discussion, on an intellectual level, not attained on other threads, where the posters just attack each other for their views. The respect and admiration shown to other posters on this thread, should be seen as the hallmark of Demonland, which we all know it is.

Those that criticise this thread, can go back to their name calling and fighting on the other threads, where it is rife.

I'm not sure if this is what you meant Mr Leg, but I wasn't meaning to criticise the thread. It was just my ham-fisted way of pointing out the huge milestones that were approaching (and, I guess, the human nature that kicks in when milestone opportunities present themselves!) Nothing but respect (and fascination!) forย the threadies here.

Not sure about that TRAB. The thread is 800 pages long and it's starting to become a little tiresome. Here we are 12 hours after our biggest win in yonks and not a single comment about such a glorious victory? Not even from Mr Leg.ย It makes me wonder ...

We won....happy now

Haha, last week at the Saints game I had my ipod in my pocket,on it is a recording of 'om chanting' so I put it on during the last quarter which kept me calm while the blood pressure ofย everyone else around me was peaking so it can be used for winning and losing.

Just outside the 8 after 7 rounds. Win the Bombers and Roos games and we are near the top of the ladder. We need to find some consistency in performance, for the rest of the year.

Are you sure you can handle it, OD?

When I see a Chipmunk film I get a strong urge to hurt wildlife.

Can I just say that "The Squeakal" is equally as disappointing and tedious as the first one.

I am certainly up for the challenge MD.

ย

It's late on the Sunday of a GREAT and PROMISING win, and a very pleasantly celebrated Mothers Day meal, so indulge me, please. And I promise (having raised it) that I'm not jockeying for the 20,000th! But, if I may, can I take this wide-ranging thread off on yet another tangent for a while?ย I have oftened wondered, Old Dee, how 'Old' you actually are and, by extension, how old the oldest of us are (in stark contrast, by the way, to our youngest-of-them-all team!) So, I'll start: 61. I stand ready to be beaten, and significantly.

I have you covered by six years Tim.

Anyone else?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
