yes i can vouch for that

although for a while i wondered if mandrake was practising his mass hypnosis

On the crowd? Or on the Suns? Ablett could make a case for that given his great set up of Garland for a goal ...

On the way to the footy there was this very nasty demo going on in Fed Square. Some real meatheads in attendance ( and that includes the cops who were useless). I moved into the thick of it just to work out what was going on. Anyway a rat faced little tur d started abusing a lady who just wanted to get through. So I gave him some free advice about manners. His reply was a two fingered salute. I suggested he move away from the police to a different location and repeat the gesture.

Weak bas tard wouldn't be in it!!

I was there DF -- it did happen!

And Jab and the Injectors lost after leading by 41 points!

What a weekend.

You're game, BBO, and well done for the public education service. Was probably an Essendon supporter ... :)

A great start to the year. A new style of play as well. Go Dees.

I thought I was watching a different team (and to a large extent, it was!). The best part was that they played as a team, and both Watts and H seemed to stress this in their post-match interviews.

we've got the messiah and the resurrection is underway

Just finished watching it.

Well worth getting up a bit early.

RB do you mean they are now playing to actual win games?

cheers to hardtack and son making the trip down from sydney town

seeing two victories must have made it all worthwhile

od, would like this. got on a bus after the game (train bus) and this middle aged geezer got up off his seat and offered it to me

he must have thought i looked close to a hearter, which was probably true - lol

or maybe he fancied me?

We were rapt with the results DC. Camped most of the Casey game just near the sausage truck and enjoyed watching the game while chowing down... they really need a scoreboard though as at one point I was sure we were 3 goals down when we were actually 1 goal up!

To then go over the footbridge to the Gee and see the way that game unfolded... heaven on a stick! In the Bradman (gate 5 entrance) just down toward the forward pocket so we had a close up view of the goals in the final quarter... I don't think I can ever recall seeing my son quite so animated... and I'm sure he'd be saying the same thing about me. Sat with a fellow D'land poster, the delightful Rob Mac and also popped in to say a quick hello to Pete (TDI) at the Memembership tent.

All in all, a great day and a totally worthwhile trip to Melbourne...and what made it even better was the knowledge that it was pissing down with rain in Sydney while we were bathed in sunshine.

Were the skinheads or the free love and mungbean types the instigators of the pushing .

Hard to tell from the news reports.

It looked like dopey flag wavers were being protected by the cops from the Fitzroy north millionaire hippies.

Yes, unless the Suns were tanking ...:blink:

Off to the Gee to watch the Dorks vs Cats in the members. Not sure why I accepted the invitation and then found they all want to get there at 1.30, two hours before the game! I'll be pizzled before the first bounce. I could get evicted if I start abusing Clark when he takes a mark and then Frawley when he spoils Mitch and dont start me on Rivers. Things could turn ugly.

I sat up near the Robbie Flower sign for the first three quarters, and then down into the dry area (left forward flank to the Punt Road end) for the last. Was almost level with Watts when he lined up for the set shot goal. It is a great spot when we are kicking to the Punt Road end and scoring, as you can hear the players calling (and the thump of the tackles). Up top definitely gives a better perspective of the overall play, and was a great place to watch Tyson's goal in the 2nd quarter unfold.

I presume you have upgraded by now ... :)

I actually didn't move. I liked the atmosphere there. Whether or not as many congregate there again remains to be seen.

I could see that stuff happening in Fed Square 3 weeks ago. Signs were being put up in bus shelters by those who wish to force the socialist alternative on us urging us to come disrupt their rally and that 'we couldn't rely on the cops to protect us'. When I participated in the Palm Sunday march for refugees, I saw the Socialist Alternative handing out flyers again to disrupt it.

Bloody sad really. Barely a non anglo in the crowd. Just a collection of the most self righteous knobs in our society.

So are you saying they were all Jippo's?

We do live in a free society, let them protest as much as they want.

Couldnt sit in the wing on any given day myself, generally city end riverside for me.Away from the clowns and close to the exit.

I get a good parking spot next to the river and a quick westgate bridge exit.

To start I really enjoyed the win on Saturday.

However I feel quite off hand about the MFC right now.

I feel like oh good the club is getting going at last so they don't need me any more.

The membership will probably take a big rise this week and when we win next weekend it will go up again.

Next two weeks are interstate then Richmond at the G which will be the only game I can go to till the Hawks game ( OS for 3 weeks )

This may be contributing but I feel quite detached at present strange!

It's either too much single malt or .... more probably not enough OD.

Need to build on that win. Have to roll GWS in Canberra. Need to win the games we have a chance to win. Best thing is for the players to gain belief.

Usually this thread isn't where I get into my usual political rants but I will say I don't question the counter protestors rights but I do question their common sense and how genuine they are. Don't get me started on the mouth breathers on the other side.

You shouldn't worry so much about quick escapes these days Jazza. The club will probably win more games this year and you are off the durries aren't ya?

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
