With all the conjecture about Scully signing.

I have put together a list of core players i believe will take us to our next premiership.

These are must sign keep on list players.

Some older players like moloney, sylvia, jones green ,davey and rivers are already long term stayers. ( so i didnt include them)

I tried a top 10 but ended up with 12.

See what you think?

Frawley

Grimes

Garland

Scully

Trengove

Gysberts

Mckenzie

Watts

Jurrah

Jamar

Gawn

Tapscott

Certainly an important 12 players that I am confident MFC can keep together. Frawley and Watts are certainly safe until 2013 and 14 respectively, and I am confident others' will stay put. The club is on the right path now...

where are you drawing your line? it seems very arbitrary. Gawn but no Cook. Jamar but no Sylvia.

and what do you mean 'untouchable' yes they will try and keep them all. Ods are they won't. what happens then? does the club explode?

Great idea for a thread.

I think you have hit the nail of the head with your 12 selections. Realistically, we need at least 8 of these players to reach that A-grade level. You would think some are a pretty safe bet (Scully, Trengove, Watts, Frawley, Grimes and Jamar). If we can get the likes of Gysberts, Tapscott and McKenzie up to that level, as well as an injury-free Garland, we're well on our way. No other player, especially from our younger brigade (under 24's) deserves a spot on that list at this stage.

It will then be up to the likes of Cook, Fitzpatrick, Martin, Blease, Strauss, Morton, Bennell, Maric, Nicholson, Evans, Howe and Petterd to get to good, solid B-Grade status.

These boy's are Monty's for that level IMO .

That's terrific then Fork. I'm not going the early crow on them, only becuase I don't want to be disappointed. I've said from day 1 that I doubted Gysberts, but he's fast proving me wrong! I have also been the driver of the Stef Martin bandwagon for many years, so you get some right, and not others!

Where I get a bit frustrated with supporters is when they start putting names in that potential A-grade list that don't have any right being there. That's not to say that they can't make it, it's just being realistic! Petterd is the classic example.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
