Stefan Martin

Interesting what Robbo said in his opinion piece on Stef Martin. It's at the point where there's actually a selection dilemma now because the Experience has been so, so good.

There isn't a selection dilemma.

There isn't a selection dilemma.

I'd say there is, sort of. I agree with most that the Max Factor will return to Casey for awhile, as the best way to get ruck experience is to first ruck, even at VFL. But it's a tactical dilemma for sure. Do we put Jamar as first ruck, have Martin as a rotating forward/ruck? Or do we let the Experience keep his form going as first ruck, put Rush forward as a hulking target that they have to put a big man on and go from there?

Jamar's injury - + Spencer and Fitz! - has been the making of Martin.

I imagine that being thrown into the ruck and essentially guaranteed games has combined to fast-track his development and given him some confidence that he can perform at AFL level.

In yesterday's pre-game on SEN, Chris Connolly said Stefan martin was the smartest person wearing an AFL jumper at the minute, and included coaches in that.

Is he also rocket scientist as well as our new gun on-baller/forward?

Does anyone know?

Connolly said he took some time to understand what was needed to succeed at AFL level, as opporsed to his other life interests.

Very.

And he is starting, starting, starting, to TOUGHEN UP.

He is a great fella & is working out, IMO, the important things in life, and is reaping his just rewards.

I hope, he will become Harder at the contest & start hitting some bodies hard, like he did a couple of years ago in the DEES v TIGES clash for Sammy Allica. He banged up Tom Hislop in that game. I'd like to see him continue to soften up the opposition when he can.

Pulled something like 99.8 for his ENTER score a few years ago I think...

He's studying law (or a law double degree).

Intelligent, tall, athletic, and some would say good looking.

Life is so unfair. :(

Not to Stef, it would seem. Although, I've read that he has had some personal troubles recently. I guess we all have problems from time to time.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
