I think the comments at half time really explain where Bailey is at. "We still have 60 minutes of football". Apart from about 5 minutes late in the second quarter, they have been smashed. They have no gameplan. They have no heart. They have no respect for Bailey. It is all well and good being a "teacher" of men. And being positive. How about you go and tell the players some home truths. How is Cale Morton getting a game? Unless Jamie Bennell has photos of Bailey in a compromising position, how is he getting a game? For Melbourne to get beaten by about 10 goals by West Coast is unacceptable. I get don't throw the baby out with the bath water, but Bailey can't coach. Fact. Why take a player who kicks 60 odd goals from half forward and put him in the midfield? Why is Petterd not playing? I would rather habe Bate even, than Dunn. Players should be earning their spot on a week to week basis, not on reputation. Davey = most overrated player in the comp. Bailey = Dead Man Walking

FROM HERE, WHAT I WANT

- Bailey sacked with immediate effect.

- Chris Connolly appointed as caretaker coach.

- Club comes out and says that this is with a view to appoint a new coach at season's end.

- Put out feelers to the following...

-> Mick Malthouse

-> Leigh Matthews

-> Paul Roos

-> Alistair Clarkson (if available come Round 22/end of finals)

-> Mark Thompson

Also allow other applications, but the minimum requirement should be having been an assistant at a multiple-premiership-winning club when the flags were won, as well as a minimum of 3 years BEFORE those flags.

Sums it up for mine. Send Sylvia to the seconds while you're at it. Morton shouldn't even be in the magoos.

this reminds me of Danihers last couple of years. The hopeless feeling in my gut. In the end we can't anything about it, or can we?

At least this time we have players...The Drums are beating now.

I think you clearly made your point in your last novel.

It's a f$#@*n training drill for these bloody eagles. DB should be sacked, because the guy has worked so hard towards it, he deserves to have his efforts bear fruit. Seriously, have you ever seen someone try so hard to lose their job?

Posted

I think the Board should immediately announce that it's 100% behind the coach.

This would ensure that he's outta here in 3 - 4 weeks.

I love sarcasm :)

i concur...he has my support

I am quite sure we have the players but the coaching is cactus. Wellman was obviously a big loss for us.

I honestly believe that Bailey has lost the players and most of us as well!

Can we genuinely get a petition to the club going? I'm up for a campaign to get Melbourne members, plus MCC members, to sign to have Bailey sacked if he hasn't been so by next Saturday.

I've been behind Bailey since the start, but this match has pushed me over the edge. He must go.

I have said it before on another site

Dean Bailey was not coaching for draft picks. He was doing the best he could

A complete HACK

Spot on! we genuinely underperformed in 2008 and 2009 trust me. Malthouse would have made our sides competetive. It was all excuses and the mentality was set.

I will donate to a new coach fund if thats what it takes.

It seriously seems like teams come out particularly harder than usual at us. They know how easily we blow over.

Ill get howled down for this but the only way we can show our disgust is a mass protest next week. That protest being not turning up to the game next week. Why would we want to watch that rubbish anyway.

I'm the same as well. A couple have fallen off the Bailey wagon tonight. I don't think anyone will be jumping on to fill it up too soon either. I can't see a turn around that will have me back on his side.

I dont want anyone whos ever had aything to do with Melbourne coaching us.

After 3 years i have seen enough.

How can we spend all this time gathering the best young players in the land only to see clubs like Essendon and West Coast just breeze past us from nowhere?

3 years is long enough. This moronic game style of "clog the backline with 18 players then when we eventually gain possession have all of our tall key position players run back onto the ball kicked over the heads" will never work.

I like the guy but he doesn't win games and he doesn't do anything to help the MFC gain respect in the football world.

Malthouse must be considered for many reasons:

a) he brings attention to a media starved club

B) he has a proven track record in somehow making uncompetitive teams competitive

c) HE WINS PREMIERSHIPS

    Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

    Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

    A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

    BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

    Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
