Sorry JCB, what did Mark Robertson have to do with the rest of that sentence?

We have quite a few influential supporters with some of the larger corporations.

Re the first post that HT introduced re Journo's and who they follow- I posted that Robbo barracks for Essendon and Nasser(BHP chairman) barracks for us..Have a great Xmas.

I remember reading somewhere that Rupert Murdoch was a demon supporter.

Where was he during our debt demolition?

Rachel Finch is a Dees supporter too. Quality not quantity I heard someone say...

Dr Turf from SEN is a Dees supporter too. Don't know his real name.

Yeah... It says Robbo barracks for Essendon on the list.

Is there more to it that I'm missing?

Your forgetting 2 of teh greatest Dees supporters of all time.

Paul Kelly (The musician) and David Bridie, from My Friend The Chocalate Cake. Massive supporters.

Ohh yeah...and John So.

Paul Kelly (the musician)actually supports The Adelaide Crows...his excuse is that he's an Adelaide boy,so fair enough I guess

OK so someone else has made that point, sorry I'm new to this....I dont see Kelli Underwood's name there, she is a journalist apprantly and definitely supports Gary Ablett jnr. I guess she's conflicted at present about which Team to put down

i always think Bruce Macca is a Hawks supporter

Didn't Neita present Sachin Tendulkar with a Dees guernsey? I'll claim him.

Can't believe our luck at getting Ryan Shelton on board.

Luck?

I think he's pretty devoted.

I've seen him at a few games in the MCC wearing a vinyl dees jacket.

Never seen one before that, so I got a feeling it's a custom job.

I thought we could too maurie. Wrote some terrific articles from behind the scenes or within the inner sanctum. Especially during some tough times in '09. He was transparent and touched on the bright side of things happening in and around the club.

I know as a fact(from the man himself) that he sees himself as neutral, but if pressed would be a mild magpie (if that is not an oxymoron!). This surprised me a lot considering his passionate and insightful articles about the club.

I'd call him a football purist.

Remember, he has written similar articles about the doggies some time ago.

They were the very template for what Flanagan was asked to do with us in 2009.

And surely we should claim:

Matt Burgan

He may work for the club now, but he's one that all dedicated AFL fans should be aware of

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
