And if you look at my trade history, I have been very respectful of win/win situations.

I did not offer only McIntosh, who I believe you will need going forward, but also Bernie Vince who has shown he is more than capable of 30 possession games and kick goals. I threw Deledio out there to see where you stood and you replied with a no. Which is fair enough.

I am more talking about others who seem to take off about 50 ranking points for their own players and add 50 onto yours when trying to get a trade done.

Ha ! Clearly you're referring to me after this reply after being rejected: -

I think you need to learn a win/win situation. Not a you win, the other person not win.

Now that you've brought it to the forum, I am more than happy and content to play it out here and keep my chin up. Seeing as I've played a part in completing a record 14 trades in this league. I think others can vouch for me. I think I'm pretty reasonable when trading.

You came to me offering Bernie Vince for my Jonathon Brown. A straight swap you suggested. Clearly you're upset at the rejection of a mid for a Key Forward. Where do you expect me to find the relpacement goals ?

So for transparency for others I then being the good samaritan, and in good faith, suggested if you wanted Big Johnno Brown, I'll need a key forward in return and suggested you give up Franklin in return and I'll also throw you Cale Morton as a sweetener in a 2 for 1 deal.

Clearly you're unhappy with getting two players, one of which can register goals. You need to judge not just the actual rankings, but also the projected as well as the stats.

It's a game, if you want something, you've got to be prepared to give something up.

Take for example my deal with Dappa earlier in the year when I gave up Kade Simpson for McKernan. At the time it seemed reasonable and the rankings were similar, hindsight it's a wonderful outcome for Dappa. But do you read from me my crying over spilt milk ? No.

I even recently joked with Dappa by proposing a possible swap again as a laugh. I've taken it on the chin it was a bad trade for me.

I've traded with you robbo24 and it's all been sweet. But Vince for Brown ? I don't really need a mid ATM and if I did accept it, I'd be looking for a replacement KPF. So it's quite reasonable to reject that offer.

Btw, a Franklin for Brown/Morton proposal - I wonder how many here think that might be more reasonable than the Vince(mid)/Brown(F) proposal ?

No hard feelings, like I said it's just a bit of fun.

Yeh. High Tower. Generally you have been good to trade with, however as the season has worn on you have become more difficult. A few people recently have seemed greedy and after your trade offer today I decided to write about it. (slow day for me) Anyway, its good people are talking and people are still very interested in this game at round 15. Now to get Johno Brown off you...

Well, we don't see eye to eye then. I don't see my proposal of Jonathon Brown and Cale Morton in return for Franklin as greedy. I'm giving up a key forward as well as a "flexible" alternative (back/centre). If anything, it's arguable that the proposal trade is a win for you. (have a look at their projected rankings).

You know, you can always suggest alternative offers...until both parties agree.

I don't know about the rankings system for players. Some good performers on my list are in the 100's and 200's and others, often younger players who've only played two or three games (ie. Tom Lynch from GC) are well inside the top 100. Doesn't figure.

Settle RR taking a swipe at my young Tommy Lynch - He has played 7 games

Never fails to kick goals & take heaps of Marks.

By the way he's up for Sale this week

OMR what about trading Dal Santo and Waite back to me?

OK - I'll take Ryan O'keefe back & throw in Josh Kennedy & we have a deal

That would be the minimum..I'd make RR add Swan to that...

Glad to read the heat is really on us.Dappa has taken my advise-good on him..

Which bit? The Everitt bit?

As you are near the top of the ladder I clearly wasn't referring to you Dappa.

I think I may have misread. Apologies. But hey, my position on the ladder is flattering me. I'm cooked. The recent Sandi news just made him list clogger for the next 4 weeks.

And if you look at my trade history, I have been very respectful of win/win situations.

I don't think you can...

I am more talking about others who seem to take off about 50 ranking points for their own players and add 50 onto yours when trying to get a trade done.

Yeah, fair enough. I think what you'll find though is that now that teams have settled, everyone has a bunch of players ranked better than 100, and a bunch ranked 200+.. add to that the fact that all the REAL quality (non injury prone) have all found permanent homes, the fact that the AFL's injury lists triple by this time of year... there's no gold to be found in the reserves... Just puts more and more pressure on trading... ONly the desperate (like me) now even think about it, and as a consequence it's weighted WHOLLY in the favour of guys like RR who can pick and choose when and where. The HT example below is the perfect example. He was FORCED to take a punt and gave away some quality that he thought was on the wane (and was proven correct) for McKernan who was looking a million bucks. I almost went for a trade that was worse for me, but ended up grudgingly saying yes when he gave up Simpson because it was weighted in my favour. I had the luxury of doing that because I had a gun team at the time. This would ALL be much easier if the botom four sides were still checking their teams, and still cared about the comp... As usual they have 4-5 GREAT UF players all locked up...

Take for example my deal with Dappa earlier in the year when I gave up Kade Simpson for McKernan. At the time it seemed reasonable and the rankings were similar, hindsight it's a wonderful outcome for Dappa. But do you read from me my crying over spilt milk ? No.

For a few weeks there I was living with Jackattack (Ultimate footy was too much pressure though, so I had to move out)... he commented it was trade of the year at the time. If it makes you feel any better, he and I have another comp going with mates, and I kept McKernan in that one. So I feel every week of your pain, believe me. What a stinker he's become.

And HT if there was an award for the most entertaining trader, not only would you win it, it would be named after you...

Anyway, its good people are talking and people are still very interested in this game at round 15.

How good is it. UF has made me complete disinterested in dream team now.

Hight Tower - Got your trade offer but rejected it without a reply message. Probably would have gonefor it two weeks ago but Danyle Pearce has risen from the dead to come good the past few weeks. I'm pretty much only in the market for a premium midfielder or a key marking forward at the moment. Hartlett isn't quite there yet IMO.

OMR - Will say no to the trade mooted earlier.

No Worries RR - However the mooted trade met both your premium midfield & Key Marking Forward requirements

with the added bonus of Back Line MPP thrown in.

If you change your mind just yell out.

With all due respect Robbo, and i'm sure i'm probably a target you are aiming at but you have personally dealt me a few trades this year which give me a downgrade in both actual and projected and add to a position I dont need.

While it's all well and good to say people are difficult I'm not looking to trade for gags if I can get a deal that suits both parties I will. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone but I have never proposed a trade that hasn't seen at least an upgrade on their projected or their actual position.

I remember vividly someone rejecting a trade i sent them saying the projected rankings meant nothing to them, sent them one the week after with a huge actual increase and they still turned it down.

Some people just are looking for certain deals and you can't get frustrated at them for that, "if it aint break don't fix it as the saying goes" probably applies for some..

Suddenly Matthew Lobbe's recruitment was a good idea. :)

Make sure you start him on the ground this week :)

If Mumford's out.

Stef is one of the recruits of the year.

Have to agree, I guess...
