Jack Viney commits to Demons

I'm guessing new player catwalk + number announcement. Like Geelong yesterday.

+ 1.

Can't possibly see it being anything else.

If it is the unveiling of players, calling it an "important announcement" rather than simply stating that it is our player unveiling is quite silly IMO. It is a bit like the boy who cried wolf. But let's see.

Does unveiling our new jumper design count as important? that was what first popped into my head.

Press confrence to anniunce an important press confrence

Obviously the captaincy being announced

Yeh I reckon it has to be as well. And? Who is it?

Cameron Schwab just twittered a cool announcement to be made at 1pm so its not bad news about Jim which i thought it could be and didnt really want to hear. I hope its either we have Jack Viney or a really good sponsdership deal. Maybe Kaspersky extended there sponsership deal. You wouldnt have a presser to reveal your new players would you? Wouldnt that be a training thing.

Why couldnt it be made earlier. its 2 hours off. At leat we know its good news.

cameron schwab said it is going to be a "cool" announcement, i am intrigued.

Freeeeeeeeeee Icecream

I wouldn't see guernsey numbers or a profit/loss announcement being described as "cool". Sounds more along the lines of a partnership/event/gimmick type situation.

My guess is the new jumpers, new players and i'm guessing a sponsorship extension from either Kaspersky or Hancook or a new partner...have i left anything out? lol

Maybe, but you'd think, considering the timing, it would have to be coupled with an introduction to the draftees and the presentation of their numbers.

Was hankook brought on board at the same time as Scully & Trengove were presented?

Not entirely sure, but I think that was the case.

It will be announcing our new partnership with New Balance(we haven't had a media release for this), with the new players wearing their new numbers on our 2011 jumpers, both home /Away and announcing our cool 1.5mil profit for the year, but wait there is more we have a new short sponser the NT government worth 1.5mil over 3 years. But wait there is still more Jimmy's Cancer is in remision. One more thing we have a new social club at the MCG, The Jim Stynes room in the Olympic Stand.

Now that would be a press conference.

Hancook were onboard for the 2009 season, long before we drafted scullgove

Maybe it was with Watts?

Or was it another sponsor? Volvo as shorts sponsor maybe?

Like I said, foggy memory.

Its not captaincy related. Must be Sponsorship/Branding. Looking fwd to hearing some positive news.

New Demons Logo?

New home and away jumper?

New Clas Jumper?

Captaincy?

Sponsorship?

Juice elevated to Snr List (allowed because free veterans place) - JUST KIDDING OK

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
