Both players drafted in 08 and although i dont no a lotabout them

i do remember plenty of hype about these two coming from draft experts at the time.

Rhys O'Keeffe is mid sized midfielder half back who is known to have a good kick.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=521730 If you scroll down there are comments from shifter Sheehan and Jason McCartney about him.

Jarred Blight at the time was said to be a quick, tall and versatile player who is capable of winning plenty of the ball. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=521445

Now i no that you rarely hear bad comments about players and so on and i do admit i stopped following them as soon as they where drafted to their respective clubs, considering they have only had two years at a club which is the minimum contract for a draftee i just thought they might be worth a rookie spot.

Can we put Nathan O'Keefe in this thread as well. Another from the 2008 draft. 193cm currently lightly built tall forward, played 2 games this year for North. Some guy on North Bigfooty board says he has a rubbish attitude, but most North supporters are pretty keen on his ability. Not a big guy key forward but with out lack of depth in this position he may be worth a look for a rookie spot.

I was about to post this. A lot of them say he's got major issues, and he won't make it at AFL level because of this.

Apparently signed a 2-year deal earlier this year, only to be given the chop.

Don't know anything about the guy, but nothing raises alarm bells like being delisted in the same season you signed a new contract.

Has O'Keeffe been injured or something? Looks like there were big wraps on him when he was drafted.

Rhys has battled quad, OP and a back injury since going to Carlton.

He is one of those very injury prone players - he impressed in a NAB cup game two years ago (vs. Geelong) but since then is a constant feature on the injury list.

My understanding is that Carlton plan on rookie listing him.

I'm not sure persistent injuries are a reason to delist a contracted player, unless he has some sort of condition that there is 100% guaranteed no comeback from.

I think he was talking about Rhys O'Keeffe whose 2 year contract is up ( the one from carlton). The other O'Keeffe for North was delisted due to attitude problems who had recently signed a two year contract.

Btw Blight looks to go get drafted to a W.A team.

Cheers. If he's injury prone, no thanks.

The Norf O'Keefe is a bit of an enigma.

Not a problem

FWIW he attended pre-season training yesterday, suggesting he looks to be re-rookied by Carlton.

I think we will go with more untried talent than these two guys.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
