Yeah the games were ok, but more so cos of Bears come back and Miami making a bit of a run late.

But the giants boys game was hit trash from the start until I turned it off.

Packers looked good, Jacob’s has really helped improve this team.

Lions looked very good too until their D started to leak, and with their best 3 defenders out I’m not surprised. And tbh this could cost the Lions a chance at the SB.

Every season I am astonished at how many just plain bad teams there are. Poor skills, poor coaching, stupid mistakes. Look at the Raiders just then, O'Connell takes a sack pushing them back to the 40 causing the kicker to miss the FG. Just throw it away you [censored]. And that's just one example that happened in the last 2 minutes, yesterday was a day of horrible football topped off by the Giants/Cowboys game.

another bizarre end to a game

raiders make their way down the field brilliantly, without any timeouts left, to get within field goal range.

20 secs on the clock. time for one last play before trying the field goal and for some unknown reason the center snaps the ball to the surprise of O'Connell and the rest of the raiders Oline. in the confusion the chiefs recover the ball and the game is over. Awful mistake from the center.

O'connell played very well. Based on this performance he could be real player

Unbelievable.

Garbage coaching.

he's got the sack.

they've had the ultimate nearly season. Lost 6 games by less than 6 points. fine margins

its an attractive job. Williams has definite potential

Terrible play by the Raiders but also another call going the Chiefs way at the death. That call was called offside and the play blown dead so should not have resulted in a turnover. Refs confer for a few minutes and decide to call it illegal shift instead and allow the turnover to end the game.

Yeah that was a bull dust call, like the Rams game the other week, when they declined the penalty so we lined up to go for it on 4th down and then they decided they did want to accept the penalty.

Sorry if you declined no changing mind should be allowed.

Same thing happened twice last week, Tomlin changed his mind late in the Browns TNF game and I think it was Philly also changed their mind on accepting/declining the penalty in their game. I agree it's garbage, once you make the call you can't change back based on what you see the other team deciding to do.

Funny thing is I think it actually backfired on Tomlin, they would've been better declining the penalty in that snow game and trying to win the game on that one play.

Just a heads up for the remainder of the season

Weeks 14, 15 & 16 we play for 3 points (and 1 point for 2 out of 3) ... plus a bonus point if you are the only winner (3 from 3 only)

Then we play for double points in weeks 17 & 18

Saying PCL for CMC.

Living proof that it's near impossible to contend if your best players are constantly injured

Meanwhile, your division is almost impossible to call

Going to be hard for the Niners now as any of the teams will need 9 or 10 wins with head-to-head and divisional record maybe being a factor

Rams will probably need to beat the Bills next week but after that, all your games are winnable so you never know

NFC North goes to the Lions as I can't see them taking their foot off the pedal.  Vikes & Pack should get wild-card spots

NFC South is up for grabs (Falcons or Tampa) whilst the Eagles should secure the East.  Washington for the other wild-card looks likely

Oh yeah, Rams were the same early, no TE, best 2 WR out and 3-4 of the Oline.
Our div is weird, cant see the Rams winning enough to take the Div, Bills will get past us this week.

Tough week! Which typically means there will be more road winners than usual😂

Bills, Chargers, Bengals

I can’t believe I didn’t back the Bucs at $3.75 last week to win the NFC South. If you look at their schedule vs the Falcons it’s a lot easier (Falcons do hold H2H advantage) Bucs are into $2 now!

Thankfully PCL and no surgery but with bad achilles now as well I'd say we've seen the best of CMC. Will be a big ask to hit those heights again and really the coach needs to take some responsibility for overusing him.

Incidentally Jordan Mason the no.2 is out of the season as well.

I've still got the Cards winning it but wouldn't rule you guys out.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
