Dropped catches should be a stat ... as should non-attempts!!

I'm damn sure the coaches would keep stats for those sorts of misses

The dropped catch scenario in NFL is a great metaphor for life and how you can't get anywhere in it by yourself.

"Sometimes you'll throw the perfect pass and then out of your control, the receiver drops it. That's life. "

Of course, but when its at the end of the game its more of a focus.
But Winston flat balled out. Ravens offense is always decent but the run game was no where near as good and the Ravens D is the weak spot for the team.

Yeah very rarely is anything called at the end of the game.

As for hail mary plays I'm going to make up a theory that it's because the endzone is usually a different colour to the regular grass thus making it harder for refs to see holds and [censored] because it blends in.

In the U.S they talk about the sporting Equinox

The NFL, NBA, MLB & NHL all played on the same day.  You could throw in the MLS as well as the ultra popular College Football

It must be nuts being a sports fan in the USA ... so many teams and so many games.  Every day!

I find it hard enough with AFL, NFL and NBA. I cant watch my football (Soccer) team cos we are in a crappy league :) but I use to have to fit them in many moons ago

The focus should always be on the whole game

For instance, years ago a team was seemingly gifted a SB berth on the back of a bad call right at the end of the NFC Championship game

But that same team copped a couple of bad calls in the first half

Looking at that whole game though the Ravens dropped 3 interceptions that basically hit them on the chest and then also a dropped catch by a receiver. Browns were good but those dropped catches on both sides of the ball definitely cost the Ravens.

I should have said any game, any time over any number of years for all teams in any sport!  haha!

It works the same with penalties, infringements, frees or other adjudications

All things considered, Winston had a good match given that he is deemed to be a below average, back-up QB

Luck was on his side but when you get lucky, you lap it up because the bad luck is just around the corner

As an aside, if Carson Wentz doesn't get injured in the year when the Eagles won the SB, do they win with Foles on the sidelines?  I wonder

Jordan Love out injured for the Packers but are Green Bay a better team with Willis as the QB?  Again, I wonder

There's a lot of sport that I would like watch but don't have the time ... for instance I'd like to get right into ice-hockey but I'd need a spare 10-15 hours per week

So I tend to just watch a few highlights packages apart from when it comes to test cricket or the MFC

NFL gets a bit of my time but not as much as I'd like

But how many teams can we have a genuine attachment to, with real passion?

I'd say 3 but my third one floats about (Olympics, EPL, MLB, Golf, Tennis etc)

For me it’s 3, Dees, Rams, Timberwolves, Bolton is easier as it’s all via twitter and then 3-4m highlight packages.

All they need is NASCAR on that day and then it's every corner of the country on easy street!

My theory is that you can only be madly into 2 sports at the same time. By that I mean 2 sports where you watch every game, you check the net or socials for news or you frequent a fine establishment like Demonland.

My 3 favs AFL, NFL and Soccer (the latter which a long time ago I seemed to comfortably fit in EPL, Spanish League, Italian league and some A-league is almost exclusively EPL now) for most of the year there is 2 of these on at the same time which helps.

I love the sport of Basketball and I'd even go as far as saying I love to watch the NBA but my interest in it is completely different to NFL. I mostly follow players and 'good games', I have a team I don't care about them like I care about the Niners. I do like basketball though and talking about it right now makes me want to go outside and shoot some hoops. The UFC I go through fluctuating periods of either being obsessed or completely out of it. Yeah that's my ted talk.

Jets running back drops the ball inches before crossing the plane of the end zone to celebrate… ball rolls out of the end zone so it’s a touchback… only the Jets.

Before having kids I would watch Falcons games every week. I’d avoid social media or checking the scores & race home from work every Monday to watch it on replay. I just don’t get the time to watch these days. I usually just check the scores these days!

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
