Big game today!

A lot of eyes will be on Aaron Rodgers with regards to his overall ability at the ripe old age of 40

In his last year at GB, he was sacked a lot, but the offensive line was banged up back then

And the Jets defence being strong is another big factor that Rodgers wouldn't have seen a lot of

As for the 49ers, they are coming off a SB loss so it will interesting to see how they bounce back

McCaffrey being out for San Francisco is a blow (calf)

And a year on, Purdy could be even more of a weapon

49ers 28  Jets 18

I do want Rodgers to win one more Super Bowl. Imo the best Quarterback of the last 30 years (before Mahomes). Yes, that includes Brady.

Dropped pass from Lazard on the first drive and now a fumble on the second drives first play.

@Demonland test only, the software was hiding my last post. Not sure why because I did not use abbreviations.

Got it, I thought it was something I had done 😅

Rodgers is certainly box office but he had McCarthy as his coach for nearly all his career at the Packers

McCarthy failed to complement a stellar passing game with a strong running game and a strong defense.  In particular, the Packers were weak at run defence under McCarthy

Are there similarities at Dallas?  Does McCarthy lean on Dak too much?

We have a good defence and a serviceable running game.

Although Ceedee Lamb is bit of a wild card because you can use him in the running game. It will come down to how effective Ezekiel Elliott can be, he's in the last legs of his career.

Niners flexed in that second qtr, even tho they look rusty and missing McCaffrey they started looking a class above.

How do you guys like the new kick off rule?

I'll have little opinion on it until week 6, see how the coaches can manipulate it, the snow and wet will make it interesting I think.

Chargers 49ers and dare I say it Jets

Stating the obvious but I thought we were really poor today, offense couldn't put drives togetger, struggled to establish the run game and defense was caught napping way too often. Players wide open downfield and couldn't stop the run at all but they were probably gassed because the offense gave them no reprieve.

The drive that ended in the Hall TD was nice and Rodgers seemed to have plenty of time in the pocket which was a good sign, it was always gonna be tough beating 49ers at home but hoped with CMC out we may have given it a shake but were never in it after quarter time. The schedule opens up a bit the next few weeks, if we can't deal with a Levis led Titans you can forget about playoffs.

Other than that was a greatly opening week of games starting last Friday with KC/Ravens, the Brazil game was good and then 6 if the 8 early games yesterday were live in the 4th quarter. The late games were pretty meh but then SNF went into OT. Love watching Redzone for the early games especially with big plays popping off all over the place.

10 early games next week is ridiculous, I wish they'd even out the games a bit say 6-6 or 7-6 split instead of 8-4 or 10-3.

In betting news Cincinnati knocked me (and a third of the comp) out of survivor pool and also cost me $400 in multis! I had one 12 leg multi paying $330 for a $1 bet 11 legs got up and Cinci killed me 😔 I should remember never to get on Cinci or Chargers, whichever way I go they ruin me, tip them they lose, tip against them they win. Lesson is to stay away (saying that after I tipped the Chargers this week above haha - hopefully Harbaugh brings some consistency in their performances)

So the Rams signs C off the Eagles practice squad. Down 4 of their best 6 Oline and 5 lineman overall.

Got cards away then the niners, this ain't going to be fun for Stafford.

Very disappointing from the Jets. Thought they were onto something when they put together the drive which ended with the Breece Hall TD. But Rodgers struggled to get more happening after that. Give him at least 2 or 3 games and I think we'll see better.

Struggled to stop the run and could get really any pressure on Purdy, for a pass rush like theirs it was surprising and our line isn't exactly good or even above average.

Achilles tendinitis for CMC.

No idea what it means for his ETA. Could be managing it all season for all we know.

Yeah from what I've read it seems like it might be a managed all year, so less snaps and maybe sit him in games you will win.

Rams put Nacua, Noteboom and Avilia on IR.

Of our starting 5 lineman through pre season only one is training today...

Singed Wetherspoon (ex Ram) to our practise squad to help cover the secondary, and rumours of more signings to come.

1 - KC

2 - Lions

3 - 49ers

4 - Houston

5 - Eagles

6 - Ravens

7 - Dallas

8 - Miami

9 - Bills

10 - Rams

Interesting the Rams at 10.

I'm still not sold on Miami that when it gets to the playoffs that they can get it done.

Same reservations I've always had on the Ravens but with Henry they should be more balanced and less reliant on Lamar.

Bills at 9 is interesting, and as much as im vomiting as I type this I'd have the niners over the Lions.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
