. . . the Building of that God awful Docklands Soulless Stadium is a sad blight on our game although many will argue for it.

Docklands Stadium is designed to make the shareholders money...The events & clubs it holds are secondary.

Particularly when you realize how much money Geelong Pocket after each Home Game at Kardinia Park-and Good Luck to them. It is just so sad other teams were either Bullied out or just didn't have the economic nous to see what could have been.

Imagine Moorabbin if it had been fully Renovated like Kardinia Park, the Aints would be laughing now. But as it is games at Etihad last year cost them money!!! It is beyond comprehension. Selling waverley for that poultry figure was another disgrace, even though it wasn't perfect it was better than Etihad, which sadly i refuse to go near.

There have been many great full forward goal kickers but I would rate only two as having irresistable goal face dominance and presence. Both too good to be true and only fate could cut them down. Peter Hudson and Allen Jackovich. Hudson was cut down by injury. Jackovich by his own excesses and also injury. Both would have racked up 1200+ goals easily if they had fully realised careers.

I never saw him play obviously, but would John Coleman fit the same description as well? His record is Bradman-esque.

Favourite Allen Jackovich moment was when we beat the filth at Vic Park in 91 I think. Jako was playing [censored] and got dragged just before quarter time and got jeered by the entire ground. He came back on and tore them apart, kicking 7 or 8. By then end after every goal he'd give the maggots fans the finger. Hilarious. Chopper lovell kicked the sealer in the dying seconds.

He used to get those little grey stones that lined the terraces at Vic Park thrown at him all day too he told a friend of ours at training the next year. I still remember that anecdote.

Yes your right, but that is another story!!!!

I went to many Friday Night Saints Disco's at Moorabbin, back in the late 70's early 80's & i still find it amazing that the entire team did not sleep all through saturday, let alone play a game of league Football. Those nights went off, and yes the sprinklers were on the entire time, as were the senior players. Incredible compared to todays game!!!!

I still call them that today, gives my brother the Trots i can assure you! But he cannot deny it, actually since they left Moorabbin i call them the "Mobile Disco" I think it is most apt. B)

He was way before my time too. Perhaps you are right.

Moorabin was the only place I saw Robbie Flower pinged for holding the ball , couldn't quite believe my eyes .

I ended up putting it down to him being shin deep in mud .

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
