Have a look at your opening post E.

"I'm not sure he is much worse than other's that are up for offer", or something to that effect.

Point is he is a lot worse than the other ruckmen that have been put up for trade. Hale and Jacobs are

the only two ruckmen I can think of. Who are the other's that are 'almost' as bad as Cloke?

Maybe you needed to re-word it champ. It seems you are the only one who 'gets' the OP.

What does that imply...

ONCE AGAIN, I was highlighting the fact there is not much to choose from out there. And what there is available is all relative to what you'd have to pay for it.

PJ is about the same standard.

Minson. Hale. Trent West. Josh Fraser. Fabian bloody Deluca.

Even the hakws, desperate for the same, took WADE SKIPPER last season.

If you mention Cox, you have to take into account what you give up for him.

SO, as stupid as Cloke sounds, he's not that much worse than our best option.

Doesn't mean I'd take him. And I'm ok with that.

I think we just need a body in there while we bide our time waiting for Gawn, Spence & Fitzy.

I also happen to think Fitz will be a lot closer next year than most people may think.

So under this logic you'd think that Cloke is worse than out best option.... so you wouldn't take him. so what is the point of this?.

I could start a thread like this

I think that Setanta O'halpin is worse than Liam Jurrah, so i wouldnt take him.

You ask people to read between the lines. I think you think that your like some Demonland Danny Ocean, but in the stupid thread creation stakes you are First Class my friend

It was a joke thread that cloke was out of contract, with then a segway into the fact that there isn't much out there and we don't really need much anyway.

Christ, you can't allude to anything on this forum cos 90% of the readers aren't smart enough to pick up an idea, they need to be spoon-fed.

Not you naan bread.

(yeah, it's a stupid thread - so? Aren't the majority on this board at this time of year??)

Mate you are the only one defending your post.... Can you not just say, 'yes it was silly and didn't really come out the way I wanted'.

Hale is far better than Cloke, we won't have to pay a great deal for him I wouldn't have thought, he will make you happy (because apparently all

you want is someone to bust packs in the forwardline), he can ruck better than PJ and can play forward unlike PJ.

So yes, there are better options out there.

You my friend are the one who is not smart enough to concisely get your point across. The proof is in the pudding with the amount of people who

have missed your 'obvious' point.

It's okay to be wrong.... hush now.

P.S. I did like your boosh quote.

So your justification for starting thread of the year with the worst possible drafting idea I have heard, making no sense, back flipping, forward flipping and trying to pretend that what you wrote did actually make sense. is that you are too smart for 90% of people on this forum????

This is just the thread that keeps on giving!!

Forgive the poor guy.

He cannot have his forum rep tarnished.

Yep, it entertained me too.

So, by your summation, it is not possible to have a thread based on a jocular premise that simultaneously alludes to a more meaningful concept..?

I contend that only idiots would have believed I was serious about Cloke.

Anyway, it generated some debate, which was the point.

Shame it degenerated into a swarm of insults directed at me... but I guess when I make others look like fools so often, they then clamour to find a way to get back at me.

Ok, not really...

But at the same time, I'm not sure that he's worse than most of the other options available.

Most that are better would cost too much and likely be superceded by Gawn/Fitzy by the time we challenge for something meaningful.

- And this is not the time to bring up old rumours about the Clokes and their questionable habits!

If this is not the most ridiculous post you have ever made it would be the second most-

E25... you are turning this fine place into a shambles with your constant moronic threads and posts.

Please sit back for a bit and take a breather if you will. I'm not holding my breath though...

I hate to say it but I'm going to back up E25 here.

I'm not a big wrap for Cameron Cloke at all but he does fit the bill for what we're after and if we can't get a reasonable deal for a David Hale, Will Minson or Josh Fraser type then Cameron Cloke should be considered in the rookie draft.

Ok you can all abuse me now. Although in my defence I did only get 4 hours sleep last night and am really struggling through my last hour of work.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los
