Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Why- is he better than Serhat? GC had the chance to pick Luke as a 17 yr old- he trained with them and they didn't.

Temel was/is a one dimensional footballer who was/is very slow.

Mitchell isn't quick but he thinks and acts fast and moves well across the ground. In Mitchell's case the GC17 chose Alex Keath ahead of him last year but you have to remember there was only one team looking at players as part of these concession choices. Last year 16 clubs had a look at Temel and none of them picked him. That says something.

I'm prepared to have a bet with you that Mitchell gets picked well before the second round of the draft is over.

Because they could choose the best 12 in the bloody nation!

Btw, I wouldn't want to claim him as 'my Serhat'.

Seriously, unless you're related, let go...

Thanks for your thoughts and explanation. Luke played very well at CHB as well this year. Thanks also for your updates-very well done and I appreciated it very much.

I think JCB is trying to promote Mitchell as way above Temel. And at the same time saying he spotted him over 12 months ago.

Not a problem.

I'm hanging around for the VFL Grand Final. I just cannot believe Preston are in it. What happened to Willi?

Have a look at the team sheet- they have got something like 14 listed Carlton players in it.Maybe if we didn't have so many injuries Casey would be there. 2011 is our year. With regards my questioning re Temel & Mitchell-I was just questioning your thoughts. Serhat kicked 5 last year.Mitchell kicked 3.

I wasn't able to make today as I am in Malaysia. I went and watched the prelm's last week and thought Luke was also a little slow.Similar to Serhat. Just liked your opinion. And please note Enforcer- I was just querying another poster's thoughts as I respect others opinions and in particular The Oracle's.- unlike you-I do respect other 's views as well..And as I really rated Luke last year as a 17 year old.Maybe if you got off your butt and went to look for yourself you maybe become a little bit more learned than you are right now rather than the dribble you carry on with - on most occasions.

Mitchell looked very good in last year's TAC Cup grand final when he kicked three goals and showed a lot of promise. He suffered a shoulder injury which kept him out of the game for most of the season but has shown a lot since he came back.

One of Melbourne's needs is a tall key forward so he has to be in the mix for selection by us in the national draft.

Great comments like usual WJ- He is also versatile as I stated earlier- can hold down CHB as well.I think, by memory he ia about 194 cms tall also- please advise.

According to the opening post from The Oracle above, he is now 196cm tall so he's grown a little bit since last year. I think he might make a great forward foil for Jack Watts at some time in the future.

They were definitely all there last week. A large contingent of recruiting people were sitting near me including BP and Dean Bailey and even Bailey's son. Gotchie was there as well in a different part of the ground.

I wouldn't get completely carried away just yet with Mitchell because there are quite a few mobile tall forwards in the mix who have no doubt attracted the attention of the recruiting people. I guess we have to wait another two months or so to find out.

Agree- plenty of time and they know a hell of alot better than us-another LJ with a few more pounds would do me just fine thank you very much.

If you're still there Oracle, I'd appreciate an update on the VFL grand final. Last I heard the Roosters were well on top.

Nth Ballarat too good. Quite a few impressive players for the three-peat premiers. Most notably the two Smiths.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
