Hey guys,

Seeing he has told the Lions he is off, would it be worth the chase for us?

I presume the Gold Coast would be offering him good money but i dont think we should give up without a fight.

Carlton is known to be interested in him and i remember the Bombers have been in the past.

I think this is the player we need! With the interchange rule most probably coming in with 3 interchange and 1 sub, the 2nd ruckman is dead pretty much. Makes more sense having a guy who can play forward and pinch hit in the ruck when number 1 ruck needs a rest.

I think the possibility of having a Jamar and Brennan combination is a very nice one. Brennan does decent in the ruck with his high leap. Can be a match winner up forward, has those freaky skills, is 195cm.

Being able to rest Jamar up forward as another forward target that he showed he had the skill of doing this year with Brennan who will be able to cope in the ruck?

Ok talking too much...

What does everyone think?

I doubt he would come for the money we would offer. GC will prob pay him over what he is worth.

I think he can be fantastic, but to often isn't. Very inconsistant IMO. Probably rather develop a younger player.

Two horse race between Carlton and GC17.

Will end up on the Gold Coast:

  • Better money for him (estimated at $650-700,000 per season)
  • Better draft pick for Brisbane via trade
  • He doesn't have to relocate to Victoria (he doesn't like the "cold weather" of Melbourne

Brennan on $650k - $700k a year! Crikey they must be getting desperate.

If ever there was a player who played like he doesnt like the cold weather in Melbourne its Brennan. Actually plays like he does not enjoy the warmer weather in Brisbane.

Talented gumby who could have been anything athletic but goes missing far too often and has horrendous brain explosions with decision making.

Off to Gold Coast you go.

definitely not a silly suggestion.

Jamar/ Brennan ruck combination could be a beauty, especially with the interchange reducing to only 3. Jamar and Brennan could both very effectively rest in the forward line and become genuine forward options.

i am not advocating Brennan either way, but its these sort of guys who under achieve that can be an interesting prospect.

Lets Put Jared Brennan in a room with Jimmy Stynes for a few hours..Because he does have exceptional Talent when he wishes to use it. Would he re ignite his passions for the game??

The Swans are brilliant at reviving careers...We must improve in this area of recruiting over the next decade as we are not going to get too many high draft picks hopefully.

Whoever we do recruit will be fascinating, I bet nobody thought much about Anthony Ingerson before he arrived at the MFC.

Brennan just may have "Brain Fades" because Brisbane is not a club he respects anymore...It sure looks like he aint alone.

....

Agree entirely. Brennan has a hugely over-inflated opinion of himself. Has done nothing I know of to suggest anything above the ordinary.

He's a WALLY.

Maybe, but I still like the idea of a 200cm FF that gives Jamar a break from time to time and offers us a deep target.

Suddenly Moloney can lift his eyes do what he used to do to Neitz - bomb it on his head.

If Jimma tells not to accept mediocrity then the clouds will clear, the sun will shine and Brennan will sing alleluia!! Players like Brennan who tease with talent but dont deliver are a dime a dozen.

He makes Michael Newton look switched on.

Why? Our focus for the list has been the recruit of youth onto the list with the exception of JoelMac. Why do we need to improve when we havent been at fault???

I am not sure why you compare Brennan and Ingerson. Ingo was a player at Adelaide and MFC who had moderate talent and worked hard to get the best out of himself.

Brennan's lazy withot the ticker to work hard.

LOL

We need to move on / eschew any player who will not commit 100% all the time.

As soon as you walk out on one club when the going gets tough all forms of loyalty are thrown out the window. Will he be loyal to the next club that he plays for?

At times he is a brilliant player. When switched on he has the ability to dominate a game a win it almost single handed. However, this would one have been four or five times in his career.... Way to inconsistent and is going to be looking for a big pay check.

Definate pass for me.

Not once did i say we should Recruit Brennan specifically..i am merely stating that players like this can be gold, if they can re ignite their passions.

Recycled players are going to become far more prevellent in the next decade, so i just hope the MFC can snare some good ones.

Brennan is talented, but that is as far as I am willing to go.

He will make a side better, but I think we are better leaving this one alone.

Great talent, only consistency shown is to have a slow learner moment every second game. Pass **Also to Expensive
