What if melbourne doesn't take jack viney? ....surely team viney is just trying to setup a backup plan in the instance melb doesn't take him father son for certain reasons....melb is his real option...GWS is probably his last prefered option...adel could be either his second or first in this case...

Or to put it another way he either doesn't choose the MFC or he does. Sorry Rhino, I am on a high with the scum losing.

Jack Viney ending up in Crows colours is still a VERY real possibility.

I hope he doesnt, but reading between the lines, its far from a sealed deal.

Yes it was a very good feeling watching them cough up the lead. They blew it. Good effort for Kirk and Roos.

I was fist pumping for the Swannettes today. I agree!! :)

Yes who could possibly support Carlton in any game they played? Huh! Wait on... B)

Well it shouldn't be simply a matter of him deciding whether or not he wants to play for Melbourne or Adelaide.

He's the son of an MFC legend fcs!! And a great talent to boot...

We'll look like right mugs if he chooses Adelaide over us, and as far as im concerned, there's no reason why he should want to play for Adelaide over MFC..

I don't blame Adelaide for pursuing him as they're within their right, but we should really be presenting to Viney in a manner which makes the decision of playing for the MFC a mere formality...

I'm confident with the great people we've got at the club, that this will happen in due course.

Unless young Jack suffers from a weird barrel fetish or has a real love of hoedowns and life in a small country town, he is surely odds on to leave Adelaide. :)

The only thing worse would be life in Cabramatta or Punchbowl.

He grew up in Melbourne and his move to SA is fairly recent. Pretty sure he is MFC bound - and long may the Viney dynasty reign.

I love a nervous-MFC supporter thread of paranoia as much as the next anxious hand-wringing Demon but he is 2 years away!

Can we save our energy for a time a little closer to the 2012 draft?

And no-one gets to chime in with 'It's a forum, buddy' or 'who made you the thought police?'

It's only a suggestion, guys and gals.

Maybe if you stopped accepting mediocrity and just bled a LITTLE bit of red and blue for once, just a DROP, you'd understand the whole POINT of this forum is to start threads about how Angry we are about Things!! Melbourne players who've been hurt before in markings contests are being put up for trade, Collingwood are arrogantly playing home games at OUR MCG, our Demon mascot is NOT even that scary and some guy in South Australia has written a highly speculative article about a convoluted, arse-about loophole that could in theory be used by Adelaide to get Jack Viney in two years time if all the stars totally align for them, which they have had the AUDACITY to look into.

You're honestly telling me these things shouldn't keep me up at night?

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

2024 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. 2024 Player Reviews: #2 Jacob van Rooyen

Strong marking youngster who plays forward and relief ruck, continued to make significant strides forward in his career path. The Demons have high hopes for van Rooyen as he stakes his claim to become an elite attacking forward. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed.
