Is it any wonder, she is a nightmare and hopefully the station will ease her out of the scene and send her to some far distant place to hone her skills(?) perhaps at another sport like fishing.

The only thing that surprised me was only 39.5% voted her the most annoying, I would have thought it would have been closer to 100%.

I'm surprised that ponce Tim Lane didn't rate a mention... jesus mate just call the game and stop trying to prove how smart you think you are.

Here we go again....

Classic example of gender bias descrimination. The only reason she has the job is because she is female - I wonder how many better qualified men missed out on that role. Then again, if what Channel 10 have now is the cream of the crop, perhaps there was no other option but Kelly.

Would be better suited to boundary riding with comments that could be written for her.

Bit harsh - has been calling the same for 20 years.

I have a very soft spot for Tim Lane. I remember our fantastic rise to the 87 finals series after 23 years in the wilderness. I thought Tim was a Demon supporter at the time such was his passion and excitement that a club with such a rich heritage as ours was competing in finals again. He loved Robbie and was a great commentator for ABC this year and always has been.

She has a horrible tone to her voice.

Wouldn't mind hearing my sister commentate though, she's gold, with excellent footy knowledge of players other than just Melbourne...

Won't happen :)

I am sure he must have mistakened MFC for Carlton. He cant help himself gush when he commentates their games.

Kelly Underwood chooses as the most annoying commentator by fans in herald sun survey. Finally the peoples verdict i thought i am just few of those peoples hate her here's the link for the story

here's the link http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/kelli-gets-under-our-skin/story-fn60xo8t-1225894746394

Its chosen and her name is Kelli. How times did you vote if you are just "few of the people's"? Get over it.

She has a horrible tone to her voice.

Gillard...Underwood...Gillard...Underwood..Gillard...Underwood

Hmm

Difficulty with accepting others as they are, particularly if it rouses such an emotional reaction is what psychologists call Projection. It is speaking of a situation which acts like a mirror of oneself.I'd be awefully careful what one said on this topic on this forum.

Especially when one can't spell awfully.

My apologies, I should accept how you are. :o Actually, I'm in awe.

She should not be allowed to call any games. I have only heard her once and for no more then 5 min and have never dared to again.

Hmm

Gillard I can stand...

Gillard I can stand...

Why ? She was a major part of the worst and most wasteful Govt since Whitlam's. She's "moving forward" because the past is so terrible. Most Govt's campaign on their record. Is she campaigning on this Govt's record ?

Funny about that.

Fortunately for her, the general population is so stupid that they don't notice their billions of wasted taxes.

I thought BT had a great comment in that article. He points out that she's starting at the highest level when most of them have worked through various radio gigs calling VFL and the like before getting to the point of calling on TV. This doesn't make her voice any better to listen to, but it does excuse some of her skill errors. Perhaps with a few years of experience she might get the hang of it.

Who care what BT thinks - a [censored] who is full of himself at every level - stick with it Kelli

I could be wrong but I thought this was a football forum? Jump on a political forum if you want to comment on your political bias otherwise these threads will turn inot a sh*%t fight!

BT has a point there, but why has she jumped the queue?

The only point of difference is that she is female... and she has a bloody awful voice to listen to.

I try not to be overly critical, but the simple fact is that I turn the footy off (or at least the sound) when she is commentating.

I don't even have to think about it.

No deliberation.

She is, by far, the worst commentator out there.

And before the PC moral seekers get on their high horses and trumpet sexism, it's nothing to do with her being a woman. It's everything to do with her voice, her bias towards Geelong, and her lack of knowledge about non-Geelong teams.

Well said.

She is annoying but not most annoying. Throw a blanket over BT, Dwayne Russell or Matthew Campbell for mine. The colour guys are even worse, Alastair Lynch and Glen Jakovich, give me a spell!

I know one thing for sure though, Kelli sure is the prettiest.

I know I wouldn't kick her out of bed if she farted.

I wouldn't either, but that's because I wouldn't let her in my house.

I mean, she might be bearable if she was a bit easier on the eyes, but she doesn't even have that.

It's whatever I want it to be.

Cook up nachos tonight.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

Saturday’s election night game in Perth between the West Coast Eagles and Melbourne represents 18th vs 15th which makes it a tough decision as to which party to favour. The Eagles have yet to break the ice under their new coach in Andrew McQualter who is the second understudy in a row to confront Demon Coach Simon Goodwin who was also winless until a fortnight ago. On that basis, many punters might be considering to go with the donkey vote but I’ve been assigned with the task of helping readers to come to a considered opinion on this matter of vital importance across the nation. It was almost a year ago that I wrote a preview here of the Demons’ away game against the Eagles (under the name William from Waalitj because it was Indigenous Round).  I issued a warning that it was a danger game, based on my local knowledge that the home team were no longer easybeats and that they possessed a wunderkind generational player in Harley Reid who was capable of producing stellar performances playing among men a decade and more older than he.  At the time, the Eagles already had two wins off the back of a couple of the young man’s masterclasses and they had recently given the Bombers a scare straight after their Anzac Day blockbuster draw against the then reigning premiers.

  • NON-MFC: Round 08

Round 08 of the 2025 AFL Season kicks off on Thursday with a must-win game for the Bombers to stay in touch with the top eight, while the struggling Roos seek a morale-boosting upset. Friday sees the Saints desperate for a win as well if they are to stay in finals contention and their opponents the Dockers will be eager to crack in to the Top 8 with a win on the road. Saturday kicks off with a pivotal clash for both sides asthe Bulldogs look to solidify their top-eight spot, while Port seeks to shake their pretender tag. Then the Crows will be looking to steady their topsy turvy season against a resurgent Blues looking to make it 4 wins on the trot. On Election Night a Blockbuster will see the ladder-leading Pies take on the Cats, who are keen to bounce back after a narrow loss. On Sunday the Sydney Derby promises fireworks as the Giants aim to cement their top-eight status, while the Swans fight to keep their season alive. The Hawks, celebrating their centenary, will be looking to easily account for the Tigers who are desperate to halt their slide. The Round concludes on Sunday Night with a top end of the table QClash with significant ladder implications; both Queensland teams are in scintillating form. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.
