Heritage, Players Lockers - Twitter

I can't describe how proud I am of our club - The job Jimma and Cam Schwab are leading is absolutely fantastic and is what the MFC is all about.

Here is one little but very very nice little touch they added to the lockers courtesy of #2 N. Jones (who himself seems v. proud of our great old club)

I think this is fantastic and don't want to devalue it in any way...

But isn't this par for the course these days in AFL changerooms?

Yes it is. Nevertheless it's important.

I like the write up they've done (looks as though it's on the inside left of the locker), which gives some brief insight into the history of each number. As opposed to the inside right panel of all the previous player's to have worn that number.

I agree - the write up is something i've not noticed before.

Very nice touch.

The names/numbers are par for the course. The narrative most certainly isn't.

Yep. But it is this exact facet of the sport - that of culure - that the MFC has needed to bring back!! There's a long way to go, but all the guys working for the MFC headed by the inspiring Jimmy and the driven/motivated/experienced Cam Schwab have done an excellent job in getting it all underway. :)

Yep and shows exactly how far behind we've been in even getting to this point. But it starts somewhere and the club, Jim, Cam etc etc are doing such a great job...

The narrative is great and will help exemplify to young players how much of a rich history we have.

The old lockers only had players names who had played 100 games on them. I think it is great to have the history with the name of every player & years played.

I think it will also be good for those who start with a "high" number to see others who also started with a "high" number. In the past, not too many players names would be on high number lockers because not too many played 100 games with that number. e.g. Jim's 37

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
