...but what the hell is going on over at demonology.

Now I have no idea whether there is a rivalry between the two forums, and I'm sure many of you read and write in both, but there must be something in the water over there.

The site looks to lack VITAL features, for example, the ability to sign up new members. It looks like it hasn't been updated aesthetically in more than 2 years (still features info about rounds 1 and 2 of the 2008 season) and has a few bugs in the system.

Throw into the mix in-fighting amongst posters, with mods deleting threads for apparently no reason, and people cancelling their memberships, as they can't handle the stagnant, repetitive discussion anymore.

Personally, I think two forums is a good idea. Choice for the consumer is always a good thing. However, with new members not being able to sign up and join in the banter (including myself), and with people leaving the forum, surely the signs aren't great for demonology.

Then again, I could be way off the mark.

+1.

Have been sadly watching throughout the day/night.

Hopeful it's more a case of the perpetually wound up emergency releasing one final time.

Wow!

I just ducked over there to have a look and the place is tearing itself apart. I remember when I first found these forums I thought 'Ology would be the place for me as it had a bit more of a feel of the outer while Demonland was a little more staid. So I figured I would post here when I was in a serious mood and at 'Ology when I felt like a bit of cut and thrust, but, alas, I couldn't sign up.

Over the last 18 months I have seen that it was a blessing in disguise as Demonland has proved to be fair and balanced, and the arguments tend to stay in the thread rather than spilling into others, while 'Ology seems to be one long fight in each and every thread, and has a nasty way of just playing the man and not the ball.

I hope they can sort out the problems as it had a lot to offer but if the standard of posting stays at : "You are an idiot - go to Demonland as you would fit right in there" then I don't see a lot of hope for it.

Very Very Sad, this has been coming for a while and for a variety of reasons.

Personally prefer the layout of 'ology. not a diss of 'land admins, congrats on such a slick site, just 'ology was first love and feature lite which for some reason i liked and became used to.

Still haven't got the feel for all the characters on this site but its real nice to see the familiar avatar from 'ology often

I prefer demonland. The constant Bailey bashing by GG, the ignorant rants of TGR, the constant slagging of Bruce and Rivers.

Demonland is a much nicer place. Let them fall apart over there I say.

I've never seen such a load of old grandmothers.

What's hysterical is how so many of them lay the blame on other posters, when they don't seem to realise it's the posters themselves that are keeping the problem on the thread feed. Unbelievable. Until Tim comes back that site is dead and buried. A shame, as there used to be a couple of ok footy brains in there.

Fancy 'ologists getting stuck into 'land for being a crap site. I've seen it all.

Used to be a good site, now dominated by some very lonely old men with major self esteem issues, expensive educations and little intelligence.

Quick shout out to WJ and the mods here. Keep up the good work. May we never go that way.

Long left that site alone.....gets far too personal and that GG rant and rave was....well I only read it because of this post so will leave it there.

It's sad at times....you see more personal 'attacks' than a Saturday arvo at the G. I enjoy the difference of opinions and arguing of one's point.

The one thing I don't enjoy at any site are mods who think there opinion is the final word and give short shrift to others, seemingly because of who they are...disappointing IMO but nothing personal!!

We all love the Dees!

We've never fostered an us and them mentality here, so let's not start now.

It's not that. It is just sad how many good posters they have lost because of the infighting. 'Ology was a good place to read until recently when the inmates started running the asylum.

There is a place for both styles of MFC support and I really hope that it can get back on its feet sooner rather than later.

All of that & there's not enough functional gysmo's to express your feelings. tim's a smart boy but I prefer this, what everyou call it with all the emoticons & stuff, Pm's & brighter, etc. Just easier to follow. But I'd love it if we could keep 2 sites running.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
