Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I wish this kid all the very best tomorrow. You could almost argue he is making his debut seeing he played all of 2 minutes in a long forgotten game at Etihad last year. From memory, his 1 touch was a pin point pass, so his efficiency is 100%.

I don`t know a hell of a lot about him, but I believe he has had a few years of Senior footy experience, albeit in the QAFL, so he shouldn`t feel as daunted like a rookie up against the bigger bodies.

Could he be a surprise packet? Can he cement a spot in the 22 with a couple of solid performances in the next few weeks. I hope you can son. If our senior players continue to disappoint you just might have an opportunity opening up before you eyes. Take it!

Good luck!

Agree. He has a chance to show what he can do.

If only Rohan Bail reads these posts!

My message to him is that you have nothing to lose. You are coming in with no expectation to be a star, but you have been good enough to work your way in to a senior AFL team which means you have ability. Back yourself, make mistakes but make them because you were having a go. Again, you have nothing to lose so get out there and give the Scum something to talk about, and give our senior blokes something to think about. You're in charge of your own destiny in this team, you want be part of a team that could be winning flags in the next few years? Well, it starts tomorrow.

They probably will be in for a long afternoon, but as long as they have a dip, and take the game on, I cant complain too much.

I watched him carefully in a few of our practice matches, and I think he showed he is a capable player. He generally read the ball well, attcked the ball and the player and got plenty of the ball. I think his biggest weakness may be his kicking disposal.

However, as I said, as long as he goes in and tries (sad that we have to hope they try!!!) I will be happy.

I thought he did well in the pre-season games I saw, too. Strong body and attacked the footy with gusto.

We often talk about the high draft picks but we need a few diamonds in the rough to emerge from our later picks and rookies.

Hope Rohan has a real crack and justifies his selection.

Every year (even the horrible years) there always seems to be a player that comes completely from nowhere to nail down a place in the 22. Garland came along a couple of years ago, I remember poor old Nathan Carroll took years, and then suddenly had a great season... Bail is as good an example of obscurity as I can think of at the club, besides maybe Healey.

The COMPLETE lack of any kind of song and dance works in his favour. Nobody will see him coming, and nobody will be expecting anything. All he needs is a dozen good possessions. Good luck to him.

To think someone partly blamed him for today's loss because he passed that last kick instead of having a shot. Petterd was alone in the square - Bail did the team thing, and THAT is what our club needs.

Well done Rohan. Your hard work starts now.

He played very well today, he should have went for goal. Either way that was a brilliant kick into Pettard, disappointing he could not hold the ball :(.

Bail will become a superstar for the MFC.

Reality check needed. Scully/Trengove will be superstars, Bail could be a very handy player for us.

So great to see Rohan have a good game today. Really great bloke. Hope that last kick doesn't weigh on him too much.

The kick was great, hit its target, could not ask for much more than that. Pettard just could not hold it, unlucky. He can hold his head up high, he did his job. He will be there round 3 v Adelaide.

I enjoyed watching Bail today. His last kick was exactly correct, he had no idea there were only microseconds to go. He was playing to win against the Pies. Totally commendable!

I'm excited we'll have the privilege as supporters of watching him develop, his gutsy efforts today were great.

His kick showed confidence not only in himself but confidence Pettard would hold it. He picked his target and hit it. Much like the whole side today, the ball skills were commendable today, all round.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
