I think he will come to terms with StK.

So do I, hence the thread. If I was him I would stay as well ( assuming they give him a reasonable offer).

The ball is actually in Luke Ball's court (yeah sorry about that).

You should be :P

Because it's been suggested that Luke Ball would prefer to play at a team like Collingwood with good premiership prospects rather than at the wooden spooner.

In opposition to that it's been pointed out that Collingwood's premiership prospects in the short term are not all that good in view of the fact that the AFL has handed them a tougher fixture than usual for 2010.

A Collingwood supporter has responded by saying that his team's fixture in 2009 which included a return game against only one of the previous year's top four teams was monsterously tough and that they were courageous going into the finals this year with an injury riddled team (i.e. one or two players out of 46 missing).

I think that just about sums it all up.

Ok , why are we bothering to get involved in dialogue with a Collingwood supporter on here? Why do we have Collingwood supporters on here?

rather than at the wooden spooner.

It's been suggested that Luke Ball doesn't want to go through another slow rebuild but what slow rebuild has Luke Ball been through?

He was drafted in 2001, spent his first AFL season at school in 2002 and Stkilda was playing well end of 03 > they were genuine contenders premiers '04.

He came in halfway into Stkilda's rebuild and they were a force within 2 years of his arrival.

He will be coming halfway into Melbourne's rebuild. Step up or get the fark out.

Please answer my question...When did you last play Geelong at Geelong? Hmmmm.

It's hard to play Geelong at Geelong when Geelong's Number 1 fixture request each year is to play it's home game against Collingwood at the MCG. I'm disapointed though, our record against Geelong is pretty "choice" there, 41 games & we've won 23 of them (including 8 out of the last 10).

I don't how much Cameron Schwab would want to give up it's home game against Collingwood at the G each year, the same logic applies to Brian Cook & Geelong. Given our record at Kardinia & the fact that Collingwood has the most wins of a Victorian club travelling since 06', it is not such a great example on your part.

In the last 10 games Collingwood have played Geelong, we've won 6 of these games. Playing them less is a disadvantage to Collingwood.

Indeed Collingwood has an enviable record in all aspects of the game except that last Saturday in September.

All those resources, all those opportunities and 1 flag in 50 years!

But those top 4 finishes make up for that though don't they ;)

6-1

None of those 10 Games have been at Kardinia Park though, so your answer is irrelevant.

I asked a specific questin....When did collingwood last play a game at kardinia Park. is it that hard to find an answer??

Any chance the Mods can seperate the Collingwood and Luke Ball discussion.

I want to read about Ball not that filth of a club.

You'd have to say the odds for Luke Ball are:

Staying at St Kilda $1.80

Entering the ND $5.50

Choosing Melbourne $8.40

It should be interesting to here what Dean Bailey has to say on this issue, he is on sen after 7.30. Hopefully we can get an answer and move on from this debate

When did this become magpieland? Ban this clown no one wants him on here.

It hasn't. Opposition supporters are welcome on this site to discuss football topics so long as they abide by the Code of Conduct and dont lower the tenor of the site.

There are a couple of opposition supporters like Ash34 (Essendon) who provides excellent insights into MFC from another perspective. I value his contributions more than some of the MFC supporters here. Unfortunately Old Xaverian is not in that quality.

The best way to handle OX is to debate the issue with him. His hollow arguments has been brought undone so often by astute posters I am surprised more of you have not realised that instead of flaming who he supports.

only catching snippets of the SEN Bailey interview..but Bails thinks there's nada of him being a Dee.

So its dead in the water really. Bails wont have him if a reluctant recruit... and who would. If a player has no passion for this club then we dont want you .

Agreed. Mr Magic (St Kilda) is another. There is another from Collingwood who provides good content and is most welcome (his/her username escapes me...I'm sure someone will recall him/her)

He didn't say there is no chance of ball coming to melbourne, infact he said they are still very keen. If ball told the club he didn't want to play with them but would nominate for the PD Bailey said they would not be interested in drafting him.

He said they are yet to meet with ball and his manager but they are confident if given the opportunity Ball will like what he sees.

All in all nothing new was really stated and Bailey just confirmed their interest in Ball is still alive.

Also said Blease has started light running and strauss has begun his weights program on his injured shoulder. Good signs

I confess ..didnt hear all of it.. just ..snippetts.. and more later.. Yes he said they were keen...said they had been from 2.00 pm on the 9th... but that despite all the communication toward Connors ( and hence Ball) that nothing has been returned. Yes Melbourne has interest...and Ball has none ;)

I thought an interesting idea that was suggested is that Ball might hedge his intentions and remain at Stkilda on a years contract...then take the plane to Caloundra ! Some logic for that... He Wont get to Collingwood, he doesnt want us... he might well be seduced by money and sunshine

More like $55. No chance at all. He's not that stupid. It's St Kilda or Melbourne. Most likely St Kilda.

That would be DaVe86 I believe. Very balanced and open-minded Collingwood supporter. Writes a good preview whenever we play them.

He might prefer Coolangatta Airport if you are suggesting Gold Coast.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
