Would we be interested?

Young, strong, promising defender.

I think we could use an additional tall defender. Especially if the belief that Garland should go forward comes to the fore.

Collingwood would definitely expect a decent return, but having fallen behind Leigh Brown in the pecking order, I don't think Nathan would be adverse to change.

There will be many other clubs in need of him then us. We don't need him. We should only trade for a player if it is a need/necessity not a luxury or want, this is a given rule when trading.

spot on...would be a different story if he was a KPF

He's another of the Collingwood stars that the media salivate over. He was going to be the next big thing CHB,CHF was capable of playing both ends and that was after just one game.

They are all champions until they leave there.

No don't think he is what the MFC need deffinetly a key forward and qlty ruckman if available... i like garland down back he takes the game on and its great when u find a position that suits certain players as they can grow onto it and know there job week in week out..

Don't mind Brown, but if we were going to trade in players that weren't 100% established, I'd prefer they played in positions that we were deficient in. I.E. pretty much every area except for tall defenders.

Just thought I'd bring this one up again to avoid duplicate threads.

His name has been brought up again - this time within the Luke Ball trade.

Would love to see Melbourne somehow get involved here... Have huge wraps on N. Brown.

Can't see Ball falling to PSD and therefore a deal will be done. We may struggle to get a big name now for PSD though a reasonable player may come through later. If not we will be looking for another LJ.

I agree that Ball won't fall into PSD. I think if anything he could still be convinced to remain a Saint, regardless of media reports.

I still reckon Burgoyne might (wishful thinking), because I feel that he wouldn't mind coming to Melbourne. My belief is we are his second choice. Especially with Melbourne probably being able to fork out a bit more $$$ than most.

Still would be willing to throw a pick into the ring and see if we can somehow get involved in a deal involving either Everitt or Brown.

Which of these players is Brown better than?

- Warnock

- Frawley

- Garland

- Rivers

Genuine question.

I want to know who he'll be booting out of the side (not necessarily right now, but in to the future as well). If the answer's nobody, then it's probably not a worthwhile trade in my mind.

I think Brown is better than Warnock.

And secondly, there has been a lot of talk about Garland making a move forward. Brown would help to allow that move to happen. In addition, there remains genuine concern over whether Garland can get fit again. His injury is severe.

None of them.

Warnock is under-rated.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
