Should we trade pick 11? What happens if the draft is a dud?

This topic is a what if? What happens if our draft picks don't cut the mustard at AFL level. No I'm not talking about their first years in football as I'm well aware that these kids can take time to develop. However, as we all know, there have been some number 1 draft pick flops in the past. I'm just curious to know what people think about what we should do with pick 11. Considering if we go with all kids and don't entertain the idea of possibly putting our 11th pick on the table, who knows what we may get for it.

1. Tom Scully

2. Jack Trengove

11. Nathan Vardy

18. Jake Carlisle or Matthew Panos

Two midfielders, a ruckman and a KPF. Covering all of the areas we need. No need to trade.

What happens if the kid we take at 11 is a dud?

We get back in the DeLorean, go back in time, and not make this trade...

Pretty simple really.

Think outside the box, people.

Forget Jack Watts, I need 1.21 Giga Watts...

I wonder if they're related?

When mumma megawatts loves papa gigga watts very much they produce little Jacky Watts.

The easiest way is just to not draft a spud. Simple.

Steering clear of all vegetables, would be a good start.

Taters are expensive with the drought and all.

Although, I am partial to Blueberries.

Not in season though. They'll be hothouse blueberries. Still worth it.

McLean for hothouse blueberries.

I can't help but feel I have gone off-track...

I used to like banannas.

I don't now. But they were expensive for a while. Do you think that'd be a good pick up?

Nah, they shed their skins pretty readily, and then they become a hazard.

Blueberries are just there, no mess, no fuss.

Bananas are high maintenance. In it for themselves.

Give him to a Chinese person to fry and it might change the equation.

But without the Chinese person thrown in - no dice.

I fully expect us to make a huge play for someone like Anjes Everitt, with our unexpected windfall.

Sorted - though I hear Matt Hayden is pretty good on the BBQ. Hayden at 11, a banana at 50. Looks like we'll need that pick after all.

I feel like our conversations are invaluable to this forum.

This place would melt down if it weren't for the few seconds of levity the villagers get from our pointless and inane rantings.

It's a public service, really.

We suck it up. What else can we do? Drafting is a big bloody lottery anyway so we just roll the dice and hope we get a couple of good 'uns.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
