Not a wrap for his last two tackling attempts. He's good from behind, but tends to step to the side of oncoming opponents and put the token gesture arm out. That's rubbish.

Overall, I'd say Trengove showed some promise today. He did some classy things, but had too little of the ball b/c his team was outclassed and spent the day chasing tail.

On the negative side, I wasn't too impressed by his commitment to the ball when facing one on one head on decisions.

For an 18 y/o kid to play in that Grand Final today, and get 20+ touches in a losing side was a fantastic effort.

I like him, and would be happy if the Dees took him, but let's not start labeling him a star quite yet. From the footage I've seen of Scully (No Hannibal, not live - sorry), I think Scully is still clearly the #1 pick.

I for one am sold. Just to join the groundswell.

20 touches in a side that loses by 40 odd points. Kept up the intensity when others seem to have conceded.

Stood up in tackles, ensured he got the handball off, tackled hard himself. Seemed to read the play well.

Sound disposal by foot and hand, yes he missed the odd target, but this was of no real concern.

Big tank as well, ran the game out when all others seemed stuffed. Good size and reckon the Buckley comparison not too far off.

An ok day from Jack. He was not tagged but had a player play a defensive role on him for most of the day, shows the respect Centrals have for him.

There was probley only one bit of play that excited me today. He took the ball on the wing, put his head down and took about 3-4 bounces then delivered the ball on the chest of a team mate. Took a really strong mark on the wing with a fair bit of body pressure. On a few occasions his opponent lead him to the ball and he seemed a bit worried to just run at it. BTW there was 35,000 at the game. There were a lot of big mature bodies out there and Jack did not look out of place. Ran up and down the city side wing all day.

SA state screenings are held on Saturday October 10th at Kidman Park..... You will probably see him there, but not sure on how much he will partake in.... I think he is already sewn up...

I did watch young JT live today though, and cannot agree with you that he's a star already. Maybe one day, maybe.

Jack's opponent Trent Goodrem was BOG for Centrals,so while Jack is good offensively,he got burnt in the GF.

He needs to work harder the other way,which will come with experience.

I won't be fussed either way if we draft him.

i listened to three qtrs via the internet...jack seemed to be amongst it...a couple times he got caught with noboday to give it off to. he did get 20 touches in a grand final. i heard he made a few mistakes but i believe he also did a few handy things. the positives is he was getting a kick and having a go!

by the way it sounded on the internet...sturt didn't take there chances in a grand final. and it was sturts forwards that didn't perform. Central continued to push the ball into attack..giving there forwards oppurtunties to score.

this is what i got off...from listening to the radio...maybe someone at the ground would disagree...

I sat there and kept my eyes on the kid for 4 quaters. He hardly went inside the 50m, I thought he was more defensive then ever. Goodrem won the medal for his amazing desperation and tackling. I think he layed about 8 tackles and all were bone crunches. 3 tackles were run downs and got paid free kicks for them. Anyway point is both Goodrem and Jack hardly entered both 50m and just ran the wings together all day.
